I have to agree with you.  That would give us in the lower depths of the world to maybe add a better player than having the A+ schools re-load.

literally the only 'potential' system improvement i could see for EE's (beyond massive changes) is going back to personality tests being used to predict EE's
*cough* coach calls *cough*

Look at Illinois in Naismith. Coach gets stripped of EE's every year and still finds a way to win championships. Same with Texas there. They don't win every single year, but every 3 years these schools win the championship with mostly underclassmen.

Look at Kentucky in real life. They will lose probably all 6 freshmen after this season. When you sign the best, you lose the best.

EEs are a pain and it is very frustrating to see the pool of NT contenders determined by a fairly random act.

Improvements to EEs could include:

1) Decrease the likelihood of each successive EE. That makes it harder for a team to get completely gutted.

2) Add a note in evals that indicate a player will leave early. This would be skewed towards 4-5 stars, but also some 3, 2, or 1 stars as well. Current logic can be used to determine if they leave after their FR, SO or JR years, but they won't be in college for a SR season. This may also lead to increased battles among elites, as there is a greater incentive to go after that 5 star who'd stay 4 seasons.

3) Add an assistant coach email that comes with the draft results at rollover that lists potential EEs. This way coaches can recruit to mitigate potential impact. This can also free up some better recruits, perhaps an A+ goes after a 4 star G because they may need one next season, leaving a 5 star PF who will then sign with an A- or B+ conference mate, strengthening their team.

Socialism sounds somewhat correct to me. Perhaps there is a better term, because it isn't exactly redistribution of wealth (since no one else gets your EE), but it is a way of making sure the rich don't get richer and the poor have a chance to compete.
I think a more appropriate term might be "Plutocracy".  If it were true socialism, my mid-level D1 team would gain by penalizing the elites.

For that to happen, every time an elite loses an EE, I'd get $10,000 budget for the following year.

Now that I think about it ...

isn't it the exact opposite of plutocracy? i mean, in general, HD d1 is sort of a plutocracy, because the elite get everything. but the thing mully is complaining about, EEs, take away from the wealthy - which the wealthy would never allow. a plutocracy is where a small group of elites run things. its really more of an idea than a practical system, i would compare it to communism run by a council or political party instead of a dictatorship.
So "a small group of elites run things" doesn't describe HD Div 1?  Looks like it fits to me.

Sure, the really elite teams lose EEs every year, but they're also the very teams who can recruit replacements for those guys.

Plutocracy.
