We just rolled (11/15) and Cool Papa Bell have one opening for season 21. This is a league with a core of committed owners with an active and generally positive world chat. We have a solid track record of helping new owners find their bearings here in HBD and are always willing to accept veteran owners interested in the league. We have a few private rules. First, there is a 55/120/195 three season minimum wins mark. Failure to meet the MWR will result in a vote of approval from the league body. Failure to meet the MWR in consecutive seasons will result in the removal of the owner from ABU. Second, all owners must maintain a healthy pitching staff at the ML level. Teams starting pitchers at less than 50% stamina for 3 consecutive games will be notified and given a warning. After 7 consecutive games of starting pitchers at less than 50% stamina they will be removed from ABU.   As always WIS Fairplay guidelines will be enforced.

Season 20 record 71-91. Key ML players: Benito Guardado, Gio Saenz, Luis Santayana, Onan Martin, J.T. Wright. Payroll Commitments: 33 million. Amateur Draft #13. Key Prospects: Bryant Roosevelt, Alfredo Arredondo, Miles Perez, Samuel Newman, Tito Ledesma, Kirk Spiezo.
This is a squad on the tail end of a rebuild that has already graduated key players to the majors with several more on the way. With a low payroll and plenty of flexibility this team could compete in a tight AL west immediately with the right free agent additions or be a major player in the International Free Agent market.

American Baseball Union, there are no original owners left in the league and no-one could explain the origins or was tied to it. So we had a couple rounds of voting and Cool Papa Bell was selected as new name for the league.
