Signing an injured FA Topic

We are at the end of our FA signing period.  There is a pitcher I have kept my eye on that is still available.  If I sign him now and put him on the DL will my Medical ($20mil) effect his recovery?  Or is he stuck at what he has?  And, I guess I should have led with, can I sign an injured player?

Yes, he'll get recovery bumps.  I've done it several times.

Did it with Dennis Upton in the minors this season just to test it out.  Wouldn't have tried it without $20 Medical.  Even kept him on the DL till the All Star break just to see if I could get him all the way back up to pre-injury ratings.
