Santa Fe Flying Tortillas - Long time owner cutting back on teams. This team has been competitive for a very long time and would present an option for the incoming owner to rebuild or reload. Lots of offense, but that is mainly a byproduct of the home stadium. We have no requirements for remaining in this park, so the incoming owner could relocate to a less-insane offensive environment, or continue to play beer league softball. 

AL South
Season 29 record: 75-87
Projected draft pick: 12th
Next season salary commitment: 49.6M


New Orleans Zombies - Outgoing owner was not able to allocate sufficient time to this squad, and unfortunately it showed in this season's results. New Orleans posted the worst record in the league; and is on a streak of 7-straight losing seasons, 5 straight with 90+ losses. This team is definitely in rebuild mode and will benefit from the first pick in the draft.

AL South
Season 29 record: 51-111
Projected draft pick: 1st
Next season salary commitment: 35.2M (only 5 players over the minimum)

Arizona Mental Patients - prior owner has apparently left HBD entirely. This team was well cared-for and has a solid roster that could be turned into a contender. Historically, the franchise has contended occasionally, then bounced back to mediocrity. This is a team that could be taken in either direction.

AL West
Season 29 record: 76-86
Draft pick: 14th 
Salary commitment: $40M

Philadelphia FLYERS - unexpected opening; owner had been with us off and on for many seasons. This team struggled mightily in season 29, losing 102 games. The ML roster has some decent pitching but no offense to speak of. The poor results do translate into a high pick (for the 2nd yr in a row) and this is a definite rebuild effort.

Salary commitment: $40M

We do have an anti-tanking rule which calls for a 2-yr win floor of 120; followed by a league vote for probationary return. It has very rarely occurred.
