Spahn is looking to roll this week and we are so excited to do it that we've kicked in $75.00 of our own cash to create an additional prize pool that will ONLY be available to new owners.  Initially, we had 7 openings so that's 7 people who will be eligible to win one of the following 3 prizes:

1) $25 (a free season) to the team who improves most on its win total from last year (get your rebuilds here!)
2) $25 (a free season) to the team who goes the farthest in the postseason with regular season wins as a tie-breaker (get your ready-made contenders here!)
3) $25 (a free season) to the team that has not already won a prize for either (1) or (2) and is voted on by the 25 veteran owners as "New Owner of the Year" (get your any kind of team and just do a great job with it, here!)

Basically, join a great world (so great that the legacy owners are willing to sponsor you just so we can get it rolling again) and if you do a good job you've got a great shot at a 2-for-1 deal.  What's not to like?

Here are the available teams:

BOISE FRANCHISE (Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Franchise Profile): Traditional also-ran just beginning to emerge.  Went 85-77 last year and finished 2nd in the AL NORTH.  Great candidate for the new team that goes farthest in the postseason.  They DRAFT 19TH.

NEW YORK FRANCHISE (
Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Franchise Profile): This team is young and a little bit in the middle.  They went 80-82 last year, good for a 3rd place finish in the AL NORTH.  You could go either way here - sign a few FA's and contend or send away the older talent and go young with the 12TH DRAFT pick at your disposal.  Get creative and it becomes a strong candidate for the "New Owner of the Year" award.

OKLAHOMA CITY FRANCHISE (
Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Franchise Profile): I like this group a lot, actually.  It went 82-80 and came in last place in the AL South last season, but that division is a little bit in flux and this team has a lot of talent at the ML level.  I think it could become a winner pretty easily with some savvy FA signings.  They DRAFT 14TH.

CHARLESTON FRANCHISE ( Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Franchise Profile): Personally, this is the direction I would go.  Get into our ultra low-turnover NL, DRAFT 11TH, take a golden opportunity to improve dramatically on last year's 79-83 record that was good enough for 2nd place (and 4 games out of first) in the weaker NL SOUTH.  This is a young team that had the same owner for 25 seasons until 2 years ago.  Come take them for the next 25.  You'll want to once you realize it means building around This Guy.

Do yourself a favor and sitemail me, these teams will go quickly now that we have our prize pool in place.  There are plenty of Worlds recruiting but none offering this kind of odds to win a free season in a World that's worth paying for anyway.

We are actually down to 1 but there is a person who hasn't specified a team or actually signed up yet.  Meaning we should roll within a day of someone else expressing interest.
