Hogging every player that can pass?  (all 3 of them)  It might get your team FG% above 40%

George "George Yardley" Yardley
Lol.

I think they must have called him "GY12" in his day.

In addition to wearing that number I also found out he was the first player to score 2,000 pts in a season!
Unfortunately he shot 41.4% while doing this.

One of the fun things about playing with this decade is going out and learning about the players.

Sometimes it's guys you've heard of, but don't know much, if anything, about...sometimes it's guys you've never heard of (unless you're really into 50/60's basketball or have done this decade before).

Either way, 98.9% of them couldn't shoot and did't want to pass. Also, were short white guys in even shorter shorts. :)

"At 6'5", Yardley was a good-sized forward in 1950s basketball and was described as 'an offensive-minded player with a knack for scoring..."

HAHAHA. I hope they mean scoring with women, because, well...41.4%.

even Wilt didnt have a 41% with the women ....

well, on second thought-

IF he really did bed 20,000 as he claimed, his % would have to be a little above 41%

maybe his prowess in the boudoir is why they cal him the STILT

I aggree with redbox, a cool thing about this old era is it starts you wondering about some of the names that bubble up.

I consider myself pretty solid on basketball history, but Skip Thoren, Mahdi Abdul-Rahman, and Mike Lewis escape me....

Participation in the other leagues helps brig back names I hadnt thought of in years and years -
inspired me to get out my basketball cards -
I had remember so many of the faces thanks to all the cards from my youth - missed out on a lot of the 60's guys with the cards though...

Abdul-Rahman is better known as Walt Hazzard, great player for UCLA.
