What's the most dominant team that has been out there?  I think I saw a 128-34 team, but I'm sure there's been better.

Any team that wins 128+ games most likely built their team via tanking or serial trade-raping.  Not exactly something that should be recognized in a positive light.

It's like asking "which 12 year old beat up the most 6 year olds on the playground".

It was also discovered that he had at least half a dozen aliases he traded with the build his team.    So, yeah, be careful when you ask about dominant teams.   They likely got there in a way that shouldn't be acknowledged as "good".

I find it funny that that was the one year he didn't win the world series.

Looks like you've been working out.    Pecs are looking good.

So the real question is what is the best legimately constructed team ever in a fair and balanced league?
12/13/2013 1:59 PM
That would be tough to answer because there is no clear consensus as to what constitutes "a fair and balanced league."  Try to define that and the debate could go on forever.  IMHO, whatever team holds the single season record for wins AND won the WS would be the correct answer.

bornloser won 137 and the WS.   I guess that's YOUR answer.
12/13/2013 3:00 PM

Perhaps, if my oversimplified criterium is used.  There are 100+ leagues and some of them are over 30 seasons.  That means c. 100,000 (or more) individual HBD seasons.  Good luck trying to pick the one that was most dominant by using some metric other than raw numbers.

A more interesting question would be...  what is the worst regular season record to have won a WS ?

or

which team with the lowest avg "ovr" (or some other metric) won a WS ?

(versus owners who were present and competing to win)

Of course we will never know the answer... but it is a far more interesting question

The worst team to win it all...lol.  Some 6 seed with a marginal record that got hot at the exact right time.  That would be funny.
