MG is a very competitve, top world.   deano was kickin' ***.    The AL was like a Rain Man convention, except all they were very good at was buying underwear at K-Mart, but deano was stomping their stupid ***** and beating the best the NL had to offer.   Some luck was obviously involved but, if deano lost a starter, he'd say "Need a SS" and some AL doofus would trade him one for a SuB within 9 minutes.   Nonetheless, he won 5 straight WS in what I think is the best world in HBD.

That said, he milked the team dry, and bailed like a weeping vagina when he knew he couldn't win.

Five in a row is pretty stout, no argument there.

I've always been impressed with jwinner in Glavine. He won 5 of 7 WS titles, and has 11 of the 22 total WS's in league history.

This is the worst team I've seen reach a world series.  He actually went up 2-0 but then lost the next 4.  It was a first time owner and I think he logged on maybe 10 times throughout the season.  Was a complete fluke.

There have been multiple sub-.500 teams win WS throughout HBD.

One of the funniest stories I remember of one such winner was somebody who won their division with something like a 75-87 record.  He then insisted that his run to the WS title worked out "just as he planned".

I can't remember who he is, but I also seem to remember that he was somebody who frequented the forums and was a bit of an idiot.

scootermcray won a WS in the old Sandberg world with a 63-99 record in the reg season,  he finished first in his horrible division and went all the way through.  that is the best, worst team I have seen

Yep that's correct.. Won the World Series and ended up with the #6 pick in the Amateur draft the following year..
