We have started drafting for the first season of the Random Player Progressive League. We have had some people drop out so we are looking for some replacements.
There are no "scrub" players. I tried to remove any player that only played for part of one season, so each player played at least 75% of one season. Players must be drafted in their first NHL season. There are 120 of each forward position, 192 defensemen, and 50 goalies.
Rules:
In order to enter, pick one player who has played at least 10 seasons to be your franchise player, then add up the cost of his first 10 seasons. The draft will proceed in reverse order of the value of the franchise players. I would prefer that no players on the list below is taken, but if your favourite player is on the list, please take him and I will add a new player to the list.
All players drafted, including the franchise player, will be started in their rookie season. Each player will advance each season. The season shown by the player indicates the era of the player. My sort routine was supposed to catch the first season of each player but it didn't always catch the first season.
There will be no IR. If your player is missing seasons just use the next season in the WIS database.
There will be no keeper limit. Teams can retain as many players as they want at the end of the season.
The draft each season will be in reverse order of the final standings. The bottom five teams will be entered into a random draw to determine the order of the first five drafts.
Teams can trade up to two seasons ahead. So in Season 1 teams can trade their picks for Season 3.
Each season I will post the next draft pool. The draft pool will consist of 50 players for each skating position and defence and 24 goalies.
8 teams to veto, no PI, shoot outs will be on.
