It would appear that the top ten franchises that will battle for the 2009 championship will need to consider the trade market if they wish to be true contenders. There are several that have positioned themselves very well while others have neglected key positions.
Top contender will be Detroit franchise with the top rated #1 QB Schaub and #1 D in NYJ so will be very difficult to unseat as NFC champion
Chicago has the #2 rank D in GB but lack a QB to challenge division foe Detroit. Fitzpatrick and Collins won't be enough perhaps a trade would help.
SF has the 5 ranked D and #9th ranked QB so could be in the NFC championship game
Dallas has 6th ranked D and #7th ranked QB in Brady so expect them to push SF but will have a tougher division
Philadelphia has 8th ranked D and 10th ranked QB in Warner so battling Dallas for Eastern conference
East Dallas ; Central Detroit; West SF ; wildcards Philadelphia & Chicago plus one other
NFC championship Detroit defeats Dallas
New York Jets look to be best positioned to return to Super Bowl with #3rd ranked D and 9th ranked QB in Rivers
Indy has 4th ranked D and 4th ranked QB in P. Manning that will definitely challenge for AFC championship , good thing they are not in same division.
Pittsburgh has 8th ranked D but unfortunately has Cassel at QB ranked 22nd , should be looking to may an upgrade
Buffalo has 9th ranked D but once again have the 21st ranked QB and are in same division as Jets so if any chance at all is to happen an upgrade at QB is needed.
Baltimore has 1oth ranked D and 23rd ranked QB but will challenge Steelers for division.
East NYJ : Central Pittsburgh : West INDY ; wildcards Baltimore & Buffalo plus one other
AFC Championship INDY will defeat NYJ
Those serious about still making a challenge for 2009 but need an upgrade at QB should talk to Green Bay as Big Ben R. and M. Hasselbeck could be available.
