Miami Marlins team executives were “outraged” Thursday over the lineup the Boston Red Sox fielded in a spring training game between the clubs. The Marlins implemented “super premium” pricing for the Grapefruit League matchup with the defending World Series champs, yet the Red Sox sent almost no regulars. Seven of Boston’s nine position players didn’t have any major league plate appearances, and the Marlins planned on contacting MLB, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun-Sentinel

On Saturday, Red Sox owner John Henry fired back on Twitter, saying, “They should apologize for their regular season lineup.”

Contract the ******* Marlins already.  What an embarrassment.

And John Henry proves once again why he's one of the best owners in baseball.

Marlins>>>>>>>>>>>>>  Mutts

The Marlins' hilarious whining aside, I never realized there was actually a rule requiring teams to play some of their regulars in ST.

There is a rule about that.

John Henry certainly likes the Nazis.  He signs racists for extensions to their contracts over in England.  The guy is the biggest a-hole owner in MLB.

You tend to destroy your credibility with an opening statement like "he certainly likes the Nazis".

I'm pretty sure John Henry did not write the lineup card for that spring training game.

that wasn't his opening statement. his opening statement was 'there is a rule about that'

Sorry.  He likes people who hate blacks. ok?

See Luis Suarez.

He might just like players who produce on the field and doesn't give a **** what sort of human they are.

Not necessarily a noble act but maybe he prefers to let others judge off-the-field failings.
3/11/2014 4:57 PM
Probably not, because he is a f-kn troll himself.  He thinks so little of Red Sux fans too.  He will spin a nice story, have it leaked, and ruin a guy just to sell some more pink hats.  Heck he thought they were so dumb that he signed Ted Williams' step-son so they would cough up more money.  He underestimated them that time though.

..and if Lester signs with a "hometown discount" he is a complete moron.  Example:  See Bronson Arroyo and how Henry f-kd him.

MLB requires a certain number of starters to travel on road trips in ST for this purpose. They don't want fans getting ripped off by paying to see their team against a team of scrubs.

Granted it is the Marlins, but they still have a legit gripe.
