Metropolis is starting Season 18 and looking for a few good owners to join us. Here are the available franchises:
Sacramento (AL West): This franchise has had a pretty good run of 85-90 wins seasons before slumping this past season. Not too many old or expensive players, so this is one that could be a couple shrewd deals away from competing.
Seattle (AL West) : Coming off three straight 90-win seasons, and with a largest contract of $8 million/season, this team is built to win now!
Vancouver (AL North) : This team has been strong for a while. A new owner could try to keep the run going, or decide that it's time to rebuild.
Toronto (AL North) : This franchise has had one owner in its history who gave it up due to personal/time commitments. It is probably in need of a rebuild, but you could probably compete with a few good signings.
Atlanta (AL South) : This team has an expensive roster that probably needs to be rebuilt. The good news is that there are some quality ML players that a new owner could trade for prospects to accelerate the rebuilding process.
Florida (AL South): This team has been good most seasons without having much success. There are a couple expensive contracts, but otherwise the franchise has few long-term financial commitments.
Tampa Bay (AL South) : Coming off a 101 win season, this franchise is a potential WS winner for the right owner.
Chicago (Wrigley) (AL East) : Coming off a 96 win season, but the franchise has not had much ownership stability. There are not many big contracts, so the new owner won't face a lot of financial constraints.
Milwaukee (NL North) : Coming off a strong 96 win season, this team may have 1-2 more great season before it's time either to reload or rebuild. A great opportunity for an owner who wants to compete!
Cincinnati (NL North) : Coming off 3 straight 90 win seasons, and with the largest player contract being $7 million, this is a franchise set up to win for a few seasons to come.
St. Louis (NL South) : The previous owner had spent the last several seasons losing while building up prospects and financial flexibility. This franchise could be on the verge of excellence in another few seasons.
Memphis (NL South): Six straight losing seasons mean there are a lot of high draft picks in the system, and only one contract over $5 million/season means a lot of financial flexibility.
Salt Lake City (NL West) : This franchise has suffered through a lot of ownership turnover throughout its existence, and it really needs an owner who is committed to a patient, long-term approach. This is your chance to make a mark in the Metropolis world!

Here are our private world rules, which we do enforce consistently:
Any owner that fails to adhere to the following rules will be ineligible to return for future seasons:
1. Each team must win a minimum of 52 games in a season and a minimum of 175 games over three consecutive seasons.
2. All NL teams must be named after a known superhero, and all AL teams must be named after a known supervillain.
3. Each team must play in a city where there is currently a professional sports franchise in real life. This includes any city that currently has a team in the MLB, NHL, NBA, or NFL.
4. Teams (regardless of ownership changes) must remain in the same ballpark for five seasons minimum. A maximum of three teams per season may relocate.
