OFFENSE vs DEFENSE - first try at making a theme Topic

They say defense wins it true??

All teams are aligned to offense-first or defense-first rules. Which one will you build?

All teams must either:
1) All players must have <= 60 defense rating (scoring as high/efficient as you want, Offense-first teams)
2) All players must shoot under 50% eFG (D-ratings as high as you want, defense-first teams)

Will be interesting to see the best offensive teams clash with the best defense ones!

So for clarification: 
For the Offense-oriented team, would I be allowed to use, for example, 09-10 Chris Paul (70 def.)?
And for the Defense-first team, would I be allowed to use, for example, 96-97 Grant Hill (50.0% eFG)?

Sounds like a great idea, might join... I need to weigh my options and the pros/cons of taking a couple months off of full-season leagues.

Hboms I think you should make the offensive team defense <=60. Imho 70 is too high. Also what kind of salary cap are you thinking?

hi all, thanks for your interest.

I have about 15-20 seasons experience, but know that many of you are much more experienced and knowledgeable. However, I felt the cutoffs were pretty fair to make the offense/defense teams even. Don't you think a team with average defensive ratings of about 60-65, would allow roughly 52-53% shooting in the sim? and a strong offensive team with roughly average 56-57 fg% would end up shooting the same percentages against strong defense squads?

I feel that a team defense capped at 60....probably end up with several 40,50 and 60 defense players....would be too weak. Thoughts?

But the defensive team is eFG 50% and below.  So why would you think it would be 52-53%?  If you construct well maybe but that's the challenge of having a defensive team.  70 defense is still pretty good defense and will give the offensive teams too much of an advantage.

70 defense way too high for defensive squad.  Stacking this for the offense too much.  I'd go so far as to limit the defense to 50... 60s will dominate this.

haha ok I reduced the defensive cap to 60 for offensive teams. The teams in the league already have adjusted their rosters.
