World Mattingly is looking for two committed, long-term owners to take the two open franchises in our AL West division. We are an even-keel, drama-free world with a great set of owners.
Our world features two Private World Rules:
Any team can be removed if it fails to log in for five calendar days during pre season activities or ten calendar days during the regular season without telling the commissioner about the absence beforehand.
Minimum Win Rule:
Any team CAN be removed if it fails to maintain a cumulative .350 winning percentage over the course of consecutive seasons. Considerations for rebuilding teams, replacement owners, and owners who the league deem to be fielding a competitive team (but have fallen short of the .350 winning percentage) will be made. Teams who repeatedly field fatigued pitchers and players will be considered strong candidates for removal under this rule. The aim of this rule is not to punish teams that are in a rebuild or transitional period, rather, to punish owners who are blatantly tanking for the sole purpose of stocking draft picks and international free agents.
Florida Marlins - NL South - 4th Place - 45-117
Your rebuild opportunity is right here. With the first pick in the draft and no major financial commitments, you can almost literally start from scratch with this franchise. Some ML quality pitchers will need to be added to the staff, but this team is ripe for a total overhaul.
Los Angeles Ratz - AL West - 2nd Place - 74-88
One of the more storied franchises in the world is looking for a new owner. You'll find a trio of power hitters and the makings of a strong bullpen on the squad. The rotation features some guys who are over the hill but still very serviceable.
