Not necessarily.  Remember the 300K exception..  If you can find enough players to fill your roster from the 300K pool, then you're ok.  Otherwise, you'll have to choose a different team.  Also keep in mind that use baseball-reference.com to see the full list of players that played at least one game with your selected team.

Could they not also add X free agents to the team (up to their maximum allowed number based on winning percentage) to fill out their roster?

Oh, yes, right.  Not sure why I forgot to mention that.

In the 90M league, what should be done about teams with no ballpark in the sim? Just take the nearest one in some sense of nearest? Or of you want to rule those teams out?

I've always allowed the user to take the "nearest".

Q/A for 80M Theme:

I assume the clone pitcher may also be < $300,000 ?

SLL = Sim League Live.  SLL is not allowed in any of the themes.

Yes, the clone pitcher can be any salary amount.

You play all 6 in round #1 (this requires that you enter 6 teams in round #1).  The top 24 owners with the most points in round #1 advance to round #2 where there is another 6 themes (TBA) where you need to enter yet another 6 teams (1 per theme).

I am assuming that you still need to buy all of the teams as normal, or is there another process? Thanks for the help.
6/11/2014 10:07 PM
Yes, you'll need to have 6 available teams (i.e. buy a 6 pack for round #1).  It is suggested you begin designing all 6 teams by selecting the "Open League" option and selecting all 25 players according to each theme's restrictions but do NOT enter that team into an open league.  Once Schwarze e-mails everyone their league #s, you would simply change the League Option and enter the league # (but retaining your roster) and selecting your team name and ballpark.

I've been working on my 80M team for weeks.  I've tried about a dozen different pitchers.
