The former Boston franchise is available coming off a 99 win season. The season was highlighted by a division title and they advanced to the Division Championship Round where they met their downfall at the hands of my Toledo Rodents of Unusual Size. Prior to the series their owner was quoted as saying "I don't believe they exist".
Their pitching staff is highlighted by an absolute stud in Terry Carson. He is only 27 and still under arbitration for 2 more seasons.
The lineup has a dominant 3b, Victor Witt , who could play a competent SS if that is how you decided to play him.
If you like your team built around speed and defense, this would be a great team for you. Check out the overall speed and base running skills @ the ML level. It is a veteran team built to win at the ML level and the minors are scarce, but the core of the team is still in it's prime with only 6 players between the ages of 32 to 36 and they are all pitchers. so they should hold their ratings for a few more seasons.
The owner who takes on this franchise will compete in the division against the following teams.
1. Pittsburgh Allegheny Splashers - 76 - 86 last season.
