I like the idea behind what eleibowitz has done. The great defense will cause the opponents to miss a lot of shots. But will the defensive rebounding be strong enough to take advantage of those misses to ensure that the possession battle is won most of the time? I really like the concept and with the very efficient offense. When Chris Paul has bad shooting nights the lack of offensive rebounding will hurt the team.

Vancem you may be correct, a little of experiment here.

The defensive adjustments have been made. Just in time for you.

I will try to start getting some evals done as the 6th round progresses.  Your patience is appreciated.  I recently sold my house and don't have internet where I'm at now so I have to try and get these done at work.

Vance, like I said "never built a '66' Wilt team and view him as a 46mpg/25ppg Rodman". So that's the basic design and I have no real idea how it will play. I see the team like this..I have 2 boardlords that defend 83/90, have 18.5/20.4 usage (4.5/5.5 split) that should combine for about 58-59fg%. The f/c is 91%/61% paint, basicly they hang around and put back miss's. I think the f/c will realize their rl stat's or better. GL beating these guys on the glass, and McD is no slouch either. 60% of my offense will be mid to perimeter. IMO DW, Tmac & McD are a pretty strong bunch offensively and with DW @ 342 ast they will exceed rl stats wrt efg%. McD being a 180drb & tmac a 137drb they're ok on the boards. There's also the fouls angle, I won't be league low, but I think i can go less the 17fpg, teams that do that are in general a PIA.  I'll load more perimeter offense while keeping an eye on defense & PF's. This team is really about TMAC w/ the greatest role player in NBA history, I've given him the boards and dimes he needs, now lets see if he gives me the chip. Could happen...lol.

I don't look at the number the same way thay you do smokey and that is kind of good, You fooled me last time alhough my team was better. In my mind Roundfield and McDycess are pretty much the same player in this league . . . very good rebounding and high fouling small forwards. So I see a duplication there. I think that you could have used a better rebounding PF with closer to 40 CREB% at that position. Not that it matters much but Deron Williams is a horrible rebounder. Unless something changes don't be surprised if your team is consistently loosing the rebounding battle. Now if Roundfield and McDycess split the SF duites and you draft some bangers at the end of the draft then that will change things quite a bit in my mind.

13-14 Melo, Harden, George, and Drummond. Partial Faried and likely 64 Russell and 70 West. So that's 18-20 usage points from the 1-3, guess I won't have to worry about Russell's efg.
6/10/2014 10:39 PM
that's a nice looking team. firepower and boards. damn.
6/10/2014 11:10 PM
Well I suppose that you are also not worried at all about George's 28 usage at less than 50% EFG or his poor rebounding at SF either?
6/10/2014 11:12 PM
Vance, IMO Harden, West and Melo lesson the blow of the 49% efg of George. 44-48 mpg of Russell covers up a ton of the rebounding slack at the other positions. Im gambling that Russell also helps fill my void of a true PG. Thinking that any time a sub-50 D player hits the floor at the 1-3 that my team is in a position to exploit it.

IRL this would be one fun damn team to watch.
6/10/2014 11:43 PM
IRL that's a great team to watch no doubt. Why hasn't scud called you any names yet like an, "Alchemist"? That's what he called me at one time. Keep on polishing those nice shiney pieces of copper and silver all you want but don't exepct them to turn into gold when they hit the court.

It is very nice to see the that RL natenoy is back who is more concerned with whether or not the team has enough usage to avoid the penalty vs getting players with high EFG%.

Yea, sorry for the delays this round and going on auto-pilot for a few leagues here. Here is how my team breaks down:

RL efg: .514 low for this league
RL ts%: .570 (not a stat that means a lot I know, but I have four closers and the worst one from the stripe is Jerry West at only .824 from the line, Melo is .848, George .864 and Harden .866)
RL FGA/FTA ratio: 2.38 and Harden has a 1.81 so expect to see him and that nifty Ft% at the line a ton.
RL PF rate: .071. Faired and Drummond are my two foul monsters at .10+; Melo is below average at .075 and the other four are all sub-.07 guys. IMO RL ratio sub-2.50 and RL PF rate near .07 = domination in the PF/FTA battle. Total RL FTA's over 3400 but IMO ratio is what matters.
RL tov%: 12.66%. Melo is sub-10%
Ast% of 61.41% on the low side with no PG but Russell helps me keep four players on the court at all times over 10%
Ave D of 69.38 with a range of 65.6 to 73.8, a little below average for this league but no sub-50 players and West/George keeps at least one 90 on the court
Creb low of 122.9 with a max of 143.0 and a weighted average of 134.0. From my own experience a creb of 125 is generally the breaking point for either winning of losing the board battle, so 134 should be solid.
Average usage of 121.1 with a range of 116.3 to 122.9 (20-23 tier points). Hitting the individual penalty should be a rare event which IMO will minimize the uptempo tov% bump the sim gives us and keep my efg above RL.

IMO this squad minimizes weakness across the board by trading off efg. This should be an interesting case study as to whether or not a team can still win in this league with a bottom tier efg and enough balance in the other areas to offset that weakness.
6/11/2014 2:07 AM
Oh and over 600 RL triples and Melo went 40% from the arc. My experience here has been that guys at 40% or more IRL almost always exceed RL in the sim when running uptempo. My biggest question now is who comes off the bench? Leaning towards starting George against teams sporting the likes of MJ, Kobe, Wade, or LeBron in the backcourt and starting Harden whenever I face a team with the likes of Nash or some other sub-50D G. Should be a very hands on team and hoping I don't end up in a division with too many high usage bigs.
6/11/2014 2:20 AM
I like this 13-14 westbrook as a super high usage backup. 48% efg is not too terrible for 15-18 mins a night.. lots of fta.. decent d.. some 3s
