Adv Scouting determines Rule V Prospects? Topic

Here is the exchange I had with customer support.  The fact that apparently Adv Scouting dictates Rule V prospects is absurd.

Hi,

There might be an issue with seeing available Rule V players. 

When I search for DH's, I get this message:


Current Batting Ratings for Top 500 Players at DH
This season's Rule 5 player pool isn't available yet or no players meet your view criteria. Please check your schedule for details.

However, other owners posted about seeing #p3335912Adam Gose#p in the Rule V. 

"Adam Gose is ranked 477 in my Rule 5 prospect list, he seems a little better than that."

When I look for all players and search alphabetically, I get this list:

As you can see, Adam Goose isn't one of them.

Hi Nicholas,

Vision for the Rule 5 Draft takes into account your Advanced Scouting Budget.

Your Advanced Scouting Budget is very low, so you will not be seeing all available players.

Ive had this happen too.  It'd be an intriguing way to get adv scouting to be worth something.  But it also means someone is not properly securing their young players.

Ignoring CS, Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Adam Gose is on a 40 man roster.   He's also making more than 327k so your settings might eliminate him anyway.

FWIW, I think CS worded their reply incorrectly(or they just don't know what they're talking about).    Pretty sure ADV has virtually nothing to do with R5 players.

Thinking about it, your ADV might determine the player's position.   Maybe Gose was listed under catchers.

There was an owner who tried to sneak position players thru by changing them to pitchers.   They still showed as PP on the R5 lists.

Also, ADV determines your projected OVR, and the default ranking of Rule 5 guys is by projected OVR.  So if a very low ADV leads you to wildly overproject the OVR of most other players, this guy may fall out of your top 500.  If you change your settings to emphasize his position you might be able to see him.

Goose was just one example iof a player I couldn't see. When I searched for DHs, I found zero available. One DH was drafted that had average pitch calling I never saw.
