So all the relatives are gone and I finally have time here on Christmas Eve to write up part of this pre-season preview that I promised. Please keep in mind that I don't want to offend anybody by these rankings and they are just done in fun
1.
#15 Wittenburg (Season 77: 19-10) (lukey4): Wittenburg is the consensus pick to win the North Coast this season. They return 6 seniors from a 19-10 squad, who will be looking to avenge a first round loss in the NT. Luis Carter, Steve Wolfe, and Issac Dyer will be leading a very talented squad, all averaging double digits in points last season. 6'0" Junior, Merrill Allen will be a player to keep an eye on, with outlandish speed for a D3 guard he will play in the back court along side Carter. Lukey has brought a scary and experienced team to the court this season and it will be exciting to see how it turns out.
2.
Denison (Season 77: 9-18) (kmfloyd): Another team bringing back some depth and experience, Denison will be lead by Senior's Mathew Johns and William Bishop. After a slightly disappointing 9-18 finish last season due to a tough schedule, Denison will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. Combine that with being spurned in the opening WIS rankings and you've got yourself a sleeper to do some damage in the NT. Another fun and experienced team that is going to be a nightmare to gameplan against.
3.
#25 Wooster (Season 77:19-14) (ukula): Wooster begins the season ranked at #25 and I am picking them to finish 3rd in the NCAC. With only 2 seniors on the roster, they are highlighted with a super class of 6 sophomores. It is safe to say that the next 3 seasons will have Wooster at or near the top of the North Coast. Sophomore Ruben Koo is looking to be a POY candidate in 2 seasons, and with several other fantastic players, Wooster might have to deepest team in the conference. You might want to get used to seeing a lot of Wooster W's because they will be frequent in the next 3 seasons.
I will be doing the rest tomorrow, and it's looking like 4-8 will be a toss up, decided by who ever the WIS engine decides to favor this season. I'm looking forward to a great season and I really like where the conference is headed. Also I can't promise a Game of the Night write up every night, but I will attempt to do as many as possible.
