Postseason Outlook
by Simmy Simkins

Wooster
NT bid Locked up, most likely a 2 seed but could go
as high as a 1 seed, as low as a 3 seed.

Earlham
NT bid Locked up, most likely a 3 seed but could go
as high as a 2 seed, as low as a 4 seed.

Kenyon
NT bid Locked up, but are currently looking at either an
8 or 9 seed, which means they'll play the 1 seed in
Round 2.  Need to have a good showing in the CT
to move up to a 6 or 7 seed.

Denison
NT bid Locked up unless they implode in the CT.
Currently looking at somewhere between an 11 to 13 seed.

Wabash
Sitting right on the Bubble.  With so many SIMs getting
automatic bids in the weakest conferences, I'm guessing
Wabash needs to win 2 games in the CT to squeeze into
the NT as a 13 or 14 seed.  If not, they'll be a 1 or 2 seed in the PI.

Grove City
Currently looking at a middle seed in the PI.
They need to pull off a couple of upsets and make it to
the CT final to have any shot at the NT.

Ohio Wesleyan
Currently sitting on the Bubble for a PI bid.
If they win one game in the CT I think they're in.
Need to win CT to go to the Big Dance.

Allegheny
Currently sitting on the Bubble for a PI bid.
Need to win 1 game, possibly 2, in CT to go to PI.
Need to win CT to go to the Big Dance.

Hiram
Need to win CT to go to the Big Dance.
Need to go to CT finals to have a shot at PI.
Do you believe in miracles, coach?

Thiel
Need to win CT to go to the Big Dance.
Need to go to CT finals to have a shot at PI.
Probably safe to plan that golf outing.

Wittenberg
Need to win CT to go to the Big Dance.
Need to go to CT finals to have a shot at PI.
Improving young team could surprise
Five conference losses by 4 points or less.

Oberlin
"What's that?  Playoffs?  Don't talk about -
Playoffs?  You kidding me?  Playoffs?
I just hope we can win a game!  Another game!"

Oberlin's postseason chances

NCAC Ratings for this season (80) and next season (81).  These ratings are based on a formula I developed to evaluate teams and players.  Certain player ratings are valued more than others for different positions.  Anyway, these are the average ratings for each team's top 8 players for this year and top 6 returning players for next year.  I only use top 8 so walk-ons, redshirts, and guys buried on the bench won't skew the ratings.  I only use top 6 for next year since some teams need to recruit 6 players.  Also, these are the ratings at the beginning of the season, ratings change due to various reasons, potential, work ethic, age of players, etc.  From the looks of it we may possibly have 8 teams in the NT this year, and a few more in the PT.

It appears that this is the end of Wooster's reign of terror as they slip back to the middle of the pack in Season 81.  Earlham, Ohio Wesleyan, and Kenyon are ready to claim the top spot.  The conference keeps getting stronger and deeper.
