If I understand this correctly I would be interested in putting together a team. My core player would be Jack Clark. Can you let me know my options for selecting players?

J = 8 players
a = 1
c = 3
k = 5
C = 3
l = 1
a = 1
r = 1
k = 5

That totals 28 players, and you can draft only 25 (of course), and no clones.

Jack Clark must be one of the players.

You can draft up to 25 using the numbers above. Since you're Scrabble score exceeds 25, you will not be filling three of the one-point letters. (You a,l,a,r, so three of those won't be used.)

You'll have a lot of players whose last names begin with J, K or C.

Would I be able to drop the 2nd "k" and use the single point letters? In the example you give when the player is over 25 points the owner is allowed to drop the 2nd "h". If not I may need to rethink my core player. If I did change my core player to Jack Coombs what would be my letters used and # of players of each?

Thanx for catching the conflict with the example.

I've decided to go that way, thus if you use Clark, you would not have to use all ten Ks.

Jack Coombs is worth 29 and might not change your outlook much.

Thanks for clarifying this. So if I stay with jack clark what letters am I able to use for my last two players and if you don't mind what are my options with using jack coombs as my core player? Hate to be a pest but I want to figure out my options. Thanks, Mike.

I thought we were required to use the core player

Sorry -- rleo is right.

Core player must be on your roster.

Jack Clark = up to 8 J names, 10 K, 6 C, 2 A, and 1 each L and R.

Jack Coombs = up to 8 J names, 6 C, 5 K, 3 B, 3M, 2 O and 1 each a, and s.

I'm not going to make this a rule, but I prefer that every letter in the name appear somewhere as the first letter of a last name on the roster.

I'll see what I can do with Tim McCabe--18 pts
