I like it ,count me in also.......

I am also interested but am concerned with the commitment & expense. The anti-tanking proposal is the way to go. That would result in playing 3 sim seasons each real life year. Doing the math & starting at 1901 we are looking at 117/3 or 39'/40 months or something close to it. I'm 68 & drink a lot but I expect to be around for a while-but will the other 15 owners ? Would WIS give us cut rate prices if we stay the course?

Honestly, I think that WIS should sponsor this league for owners who are willing to commit to the duration (100+ seasons).  After all, it would be a GREAT publicity tool, along with a way to keep users around for a long long long time.  Remember, it would only be ONE league going at a time, albeit continually.  It's not like the owners that are willing to commit would only play THIS league, so they're almost guaranteeing a steady revenue flow.

To combat the restless owner syndrome, maybe have a franchise draft each year (since trades would be verboten) with the top picks going to the people who get the most wins over historical wins.

I like the idea of the draft for the next season would be based on total wins over real life wins.

Yeah I would like to play...

Love the idea. Would be worth having the Senators to see Big Train pitch for all those seasons.

Fascinating, I'd be in.

This is a great concept, I would join.

To piggyback off of what Crazy said back on Page 1 (and some others have alluded to)...

(1) Play three seasons at a time.
(2) An owner signs up for a three-pack - one team in each league

Take 1901-1903 to begin with:  Stack all eight N.L. teams in order by Wins for each year.  By keeping one team from each of the three years in each pod, divide up the teams evenly as far as number of wins they had.  I've already looked at and figured out the 1901-1903 N.L.  The eight pods look like this (number of wins is in front of each team):

POD 1:
052 – 1901 Giants
103 – 1902 Pirates
058 – 1903 Beaneaters

POD 2:
091 – 1903 Pirates
069 – 1901 Beaneaters
048 – 1902 Giants

POD 3:
090 – 1901 Pirates
068 – 1902 Orphans
043 – 1903 Cardinals

POD 4:
084 – 1903 Giants
070 – 1902 Reds
053 – 1901 Orphans

POD 5:
083 – 1901 Phillies
070 – 1903 Superbas
056 – 1902 Cardinals

POD 6:
082 – 1903 Cubs
073 – 1902 Beaneaters
052 – 1901 Reds

POD 7:
079 – 1901 Superbas
074 – 1903 Reds
056 – 1902 Phillies

POD 8:
076 – 1901 Cardinals
075 – 1902 Superbas
049 – 1903 Phillies

Before each league begins, do a random draw for PODS between the eight owners.  Each POD will offer you one or two good chances of competing for a Division Title and one possible stinker.  It would be interesting to see which owners could get their "stinkers" to over-perform and compete for a division.

Do the same thing for the A.L...

My 2 cents: I would play for the enjoyment. I don't give a hoot about rewards or winnings. I would prefer to keep the money as close to neutral as possible. I think a priority should be retention. High turnover in ownership is a killer of progressives, and a real headache for commissioners...

How would we deal with players that were injured or died during the season? Does '67 Gibson and his broken leg go on the DL on July 15th? How do you treat '93 Bob Ojeda? Does he begin the season on the DL after the March accident that took the lives of Crews/Olin?

Do we run a beta season?

Do we install anti tanking rules? Meeting what criteria? Will we consider adding a few Federal league or pre-1901 players to mix it up? An occasional ringer?

Perhaps for sub .400 teams you allow 3 free agents to help level the playing field?
For .400-.449 2 free agents
For .450-.499 1

We could have a committee put together a list of eligible players...pull them out of a hat? Random.org from a list...

Something along those lines...

What about a Rule V draft? Perhaps a couple of free agent rounds. For unusual circumstances a compensatory pick could be awarded...a sandwich pick between rounds.
