Important Site Update Topic

For a while now, we've been working on upgrading some of the technology we use for the site.  While this doesn't always provide tangible benefits to you, it does allow us to more easily update things going forward.  As part of this process, we'll be releasing some updates on Thursday, February 19th related to purchasing seasons.

The most important thing to know is that starting Wednesday evening at 10pm ET, you won't be able to make purchases. Purchasing will re-open the next day (Thursday). For Hoops Dynasty and Gridiron Dynasty users, please make sure you have seasons already purchased by Wednesday evening to avoid losing teams.

This release will not affect normal operations of any of the games, so no games will need to be pushed back or anything like that.  So this should only affect you if you need to purchase seasons.

For Hoops Dynasty and Gridiron Dynasty, we'll also be releasing an update related to how available seasons are handled for multiple worlds.  Currently, when you purchase seasons, they are assigned to a specific world.  After the release, seasons will be put in a common pool (like Hardball Dynasty), and you'll be able to use them for any world you'd like.  For each world that you're in, you'll also be able to configure whether you want to have the system automatically renew your team from your season pool, or whether you'd like to do it manually (which you may do at any time).  This will make it much easier to join a new world with existing seasons, and you won't have to worry about moving seasons between worlds.

We have some other behind-the-scenes upgrades in progress as well, but our plan is to put a renewed focus on actual game updates very soon.  We greatly appreciate your patience.

The next step in our under-the-hood upgrades will be overnight Tuesday, March 24th - Wednesday, March 25th. We will be migrating and unifying our database servers to the latest version.

In order to accomplish this significant task, we must push all our game schedules back 24 hours.  We've had to do this a few other times in our company history. Here's a quick overview of what it means:

At 4:00PM ET on Tuesday, March 24th, we will de-activate all processes that result in games being simulated, recruiting and free-agent negotiating, etc. Basically, anything that happens during one of our processing cycles will be halted for 24 hours.

At 4:00PM ET on Wednesday, March 25th, we will re-activate all processes and games will proceed normally.

During the time in between, you'll still be able to access your teams and perform actions, but any action requiring our periodic processing will be paused until the following day.  For example, in Hardball Dynasty, you'll be able to change your lineup or sign a Tryout Camp player, but if you put in a waiver claim or free-agent offer during the offseason, you won't hear back until the following day.

To make this happen, we will be pushing all scheduled events back 24 hours. So a game that is currently scheduled for March 26th, for example, will be adjusted to be played on March 27th.

The entire website will be down overnight from very late Tuesday to early Wednesday AM. Estimated time offline is 6 hours.

To reiterate the post above, this is another step we need to take so that we can return to frequent and meaningful updates to our games.
