5 Season Franchise Blend Topic

Okay.  I have taken the 1963-1972 San Francisco Giants.

I will break my team down, and try to explain the rules as I have applied them in my team construction.  I'll start with my starting pitching:

The main criteria to remember are:

*cannot be the highest priced season of player.  If it is, the season must be bumped either 1 season forward, or 1 season back.  The exception there is that the season HAS to be with your franchise.  Thus you may have only 1 option.  In the event the player has limited choices available I think a ruling from summerfield should be sought (i.e. a player with only 2 seasons, you'll see that with RPs I think).
*cannot be a season where the players team made the playoffs
*pitcher must have started at least 5 games

Bob Shaw, Ron Herbal and Warren Spahn look like SPs, no?  Ah, but they made AT LEAST 5 APPEARANCES OUT OF THE BULLPEN THUS BECOMING ELIGIBLE TO BE DRAFTED WITH MY RELIEF UNIT.  Shaw will surely crack my starting rotation, so snagging him here was a nice bonus!  I posted "starts", and games pitched" next to each other on the stat layout.  If you look at Shaw's line you'll see 33 following by 42.  He pitched in 42 games and made 33 starts

Not too shabby.  Got to figure out how to juggle it, but I'll take.

Don't forget the highest priced clause.  1965 Bob Shaw costs 6.10mil.  His highest priced season?  6.11 in 1959!

Oooh, can't forget to include the other half of the battery, my catchers from 1968!

Well, the middle infielders are terribly weak, but my best options given the league parameters wouldn't fit.  At least they aren't terrible fielders!  Getting 27 homer Tom Haller at catcher via infield eligible is a nice bonus as well...
2/26/2015 12:33 PM (edited)
Jim Ray Hart at 3B softens the blow of the weaklings in the middle.
