Hometown S30: Moneyballs to the Walls Topic

Hometown has rolled over and has only limited openings (listed below) for S30.  Please sitemail me if you are interested in any of the teams shown here.  Hometown has been a great world with high owner retention rates (on average 3-5 replacements per year).  The world has solid owners that are looking for a challenger to join the world and shake things up.  Come take the challenge and test yourself against some of the best!

Tacoma (AL West)

This franchise just barely missed the playoffs (1 game out of the division, 4 games out of the WC) after fading over the final stretch of S29.  The current owner has decided to leave HBD and the franchise is currently available for a new owner to step in before the roll.  The team is set up well for the future with quality young players like RA Murray and Larry Selman.  The previous owner kept the payroll low ($45M committed for S30) and the team will get another contributor with their first round pick next season. Solid franchise in a winnable division.

This team consists of a number of players in their prime that fell to a surprising 65 win record in S29.  The team is very similar to the S28 version that won 85 games, so the new owner should expect quite a bit of a bounceback in wins to go along with the top 5 pick in the S30 draft.  The offense and defense were average or slightly above average, but with players like Kirt ClaytonBob Patton, and Shelby Banks it won't take much to get this team humming on all cylinders again to make a run at the playoffs.

1. Owners must meet a wins requirement of 55/115/190 over a 1/2/3 year period or will not be allowed to return for the following season. This requirement continues to roll (does not reset) and all totals must be met each year. New owners are exempt from the 1 year requirement, but must meet the 2 and 3 year requirements or face automatic dismissal.

2. Major league pitchers and players must be played at reasonable stamina/durability levels (no pitchers at 0(0)), and must play positions reasonably expected of them (cannot knowingly play 1B at SS).

3. No team may spend in excess of $30M on international prospects in a single season. Franchises who violate this rule must accept a $3M prospect cash penalty in the following season for every $1M over the $30M limit. Owners who fail to comply with the rule will be penalized and warned, and repeat offenders will be expelled from the world. The owner will also be required to release the International Free Agent commanding the largest bonus into the following season's free agent pool.
