Good division 2 recruiting areas? Topic

I've been thinking of getting rid of my Colorado teams in Camp and Rockne. Colorado relies a lot on the luck of the draw when it comes to recruiting. It's been the toughest of my 4 schools for recruiting, by far. Why I picked up a 2nd Colorado team, I don't know.

Anyways, I want to see if I can win in D2 (I think I can) but can't find a thread about the better schools in terms of recruiting. Anybody have a link or some recommendations?

One can kill it in recruiting at Humboldt State --- easy to pull in top 5 classes.

Yeah, that is the one D2 school I knew about. Not likely to be available.

If you can recruit - you can do it from anywhere. I won 4 NC in my first 6 seasons at Colorado-Mines. No schools in SoCal so most of the Rocky Mountain schools can draw from there. Trick is to get high vision and then you can see undecideds cross country no-one else can see. Toughest spots are the Northwest schools.

Valdosta State has the best proximity to FL. Western New Mexico is closer to SoCal than Humboldt State. I think D2 comes down to where the humans are. You can win anywhere in D2 in my opinion.

Texas schools aren't to bad either depending on human coaches.

My personal favorite in D2 is Winona State in the Northern Sun conference.

Here's a thread from yatzr about recruit distribution. It breaks down schools by their proximity to recruits.

Yep really humboldt state is a good recruiting spot and so are basically all of the teams in the northeast (Pennsylvania especially) and the West Virginia/Indiana/ohio schools as well

Saint Joseph's or Colorado Mines. Completely disagree with Humboldt St. You will be one-sided with distance. I tried coaching there for 8+ seasons and struggled tremendously for recruits. You can't get recruits from the pacific ocean.

I like Valdosta St the best but think you can find success anywhere in D2.

I have Valdosta in one world, and it's definitely a solid area...quick and easy access into Florida.

D2 is pretty empty in most worlds, so it also depends where other humans are situated.

I agree here. I love coaching Humboldt, and with top vision you can recruit well. But a lot of it has to be nationwide as sometimes the recruits just are not local. Some seasons can be very tough and most good recruits are 1500+ miles away.
