Good division 2 recruiting areas? Topic

Saint Joseph's or Colorado Mines. Completely disagree with Humboldt St. You will be one-sided with distance. I tried coaching there for 8+ seasons and struggled tremendously for recruits. You can't get recruits from the pacific ocean.
That's what's happened with Colorado. Easy to get good. Difficult to stay great. I'll avoid Humboldt St. Can't argue with all those D2 championships.

If you can recruit - you can do it from anywhere. I won 4 NC in my first 6 seasons at Colorado-Mines. No schools in SoCal so most of the Rocky Mountain schools can draw from there. Trick is to get high vision and then you can see undecideds cross country no-one else can see. Toughest spots are the Northwest schools.
Cool. I'll stay away from Northwest schools.

Valdosta State has the best proximity to FL. Western New Mexico is closer to SoCal than Humboldt State. I think D2 comes down to where the humans are. You can win anywhere in D2 in my opinion.
I think you hit it on the head here. It comes down to where the humans are. At D3 Colorado, I've had human D2 coaches coming down and getting the quality recruits. But yeah, in the final analysis, you're right. It depends where everyone else is.

Here's a thread from yatzr about recruit distribution. It breaks down schools by their proximity to recruits.

I'll update once I get a school. Likely it'll be whatever I can get. I am dead set on leaving Camp D3.

This is also why I think people's opinion of Humboldt varies. I was there for a stretch of 4-5 seasons where there were no humans in the pacific northwest or New Mexico. I might have been limited to the west due to the ocean, but I felt like I controlled all of CA, OR, WA, NEV, HI. My game planning was not very good and I was in the semi-finals 3 years in a row in fairly short order. Recruiting felt like cheating.

Personally I love gannon at d2. The overall amount of kids in the northeast as opposed to anywhere else is unbelievable. Not to mention you can steal kids pretty much nationwide if you pick your spots due to the fact that most of your class you can get pretty cheap due to being close.

I enjoyed Gannon.  Built them to a power.   Moved to D-1AA.  Saw my Gannon team go sim ai in a conference with several humans and go 13-1 for the CC.    Should have stayed one more season

They were pretty solid when I got them. If I could only get mojolad over at kutztown to retire id have a shot.

It's gonna take someone to knock me off of my throne before I even think of retiring

Dangit, I just moved back up to D1A. I guess I went the wrong direction. I should have dropped down to D2 to take you up on that challenge.
