Conferences: RL vs HD Topic

Hey all, so I've been working on this for a little while. Basically I've listed the Division I conferences and every team that is currently a member of that conference in men's basketball. Highlighted in red are the teams that have been placed in the incorrect conference in HD. Teams that aren't highlighted are teams that have been placed correctly. I've done this for D2/D3 as well, but obviously those are of lesser importance; however, if there's enough interest I'll post them. I know realignment has been a hot topic for some time and I figured I'd give everyone an opportunity to see just how difficult a conference realignment would be. If there are any corrections needed please sitemail me and I'll update it ASAP.

There are also a few teams that are now D1 that are in D2

I brought this up awhile ago almost everyone is against it sadly, because "it's too much work" or "ruins rivalries" and "seperates coaches".

This isn't Athletic Director Dynasty we are the coaches, realignment wasnt fully up to coaches, and a lot of rivalries were changed, deal with it.

I would like to see realignment in all divisions.

But another thing is that at D1 teams play up to 40 games a season and how would scheduling work thats the biggest problem to overcome

C'mon, your best argument for it can't be "I would like to see it.   Deal with it."

Only way this is possible is if a new world is created, which is highly unlikely.

Maybe in the hypothetical beta world...

I wasn't really making a big argument, just stating a fact from my view and that in real life it caused problems and was a lot of work for the schools and coaches involved which is a big reason against it.  I wasn't saying it should happen just because I want it and everyone should deal with it.

C'mon the biggest argument against it shouldn't be it would mess things up and change the layout, I don't want to see it, deal with my lack of wanting change

Schools and coaches in real life are PAID to deal with it. We have to pay, its cometely different. If people have connections they don't want to lose its their own choice and shouldn't be forced differently.

People have to pay who want to have correct conferences and division re-alignment, and shouldn't be forced to deal with those against change because its too much effort to deal with.

It goes both ways.

I love this game and have only been playing for a year. I understand why the old timers don't want it changed but why should newer guys that want it to be more RL have to deal with it just because you don't want it changed? I also understand It would probably have to be a new world, not that they would ever start one. But if they did I would move to the RL world and ditch the others. But that's just me.

How can it only go one way, the whole point of the game is to provide a realistic basketball simulation game, updating the conferences and realigment is more to what the game is supposed to be, if they did update it which they should then you would have the choice to not pay for the game.

I did this same task a few years ago and it's very difficult! Nice job!

I, too, had trouble finding a logical spot for Savannah State. I had one too many southern schools and Savannah didn't fit well anywhere else.

I'd be interested in seeing your D2 and D3 lists. They should be less controversial since most of us aren't familiar with the real conferences/rivalries.  There also seems to be more movement in the lower divisions. There's one D3 conference that, since it was formed, has had over 50 different members.

Thank you for using 'Green Bay' and 'Milwaukee'.  WIS still refers to them as 'Wisconsin-Greey Bay' and 'Wisconsin-Milwaukee'.   If you post your D2 and D3 lists, note that Augusta State is now named Georgia Regents.  Philadelphia Biblical is now Cairn.
