After another very competitive season it's time to take another walk through history, randomly of course! Again I scrambled up teams from the entire history of baseball--since 1901. From the roughly 2200 teams available, 240 were picked at random, and then randomly distributed, 10 each to 24 groups. No matter which set of teams you are assigned, you are sure to find a healthy mix of good players. And because each owner's teams are unique, we are assured 24 different rosters in terms of player years and teams played with.

Once 24 owners sign up, each will be assigned to a group according to the order of the last 2 digits of their owner rating at that time. Ties would be broken by the third digit. New owners are welcome. However, at group assignment, any owner without game play experience (owner rating of 1400) will be assigned a random rating between 1 and 10000.

The team you build must consist entirely of players found on any of the ten rosters assigned to your group. If a player has a split season, you can use any season that WIS lists as belonging to the team in your group. $200K (up to $225K) position players must come from any of the YEARS your teams played in, no matter what team they played for. Pitchers, however, must ALL come from the 10 teams in the group.

Cap: $80 MM. No WW, No AAA. Yes DH. 1300 min IP, 5500 min PA. Trades ok. No clones. Injuries on. Live play next series only. 

Stadium must be one used by any of the 10 teams in your group (that season). You can look that up, as well as other useful information here.

For those thinking about joining.... With the arrival of the 2015 players, the group assignments in the current RANDOM WALK were randomized so that EVERY group includes 1 or 2 teams from 1901-1919, no more, no less. Some owners have told me that the number of deadball teams in the group is a predictor of success, so I hope this change helps fix that issue. To keep the theme fresh, I also added the DH.
