Need advice on distribution. Topic

I have been messing with this for a few years now. But now that I feel my team is pretty good and I'm bringing back all my guys next season I would like to make a push for the NT. Was hoping for some advice on the distribution and if I'm doing it right or wrong.

Thank you in advance.

I've always just used a 1-5 scale. In my triangle sets I will usually have my 3 scorers set at 4, PG at 3.

First off versus SIMAI you should be running on Defense Positioning +1 Adjustments Never on your Primary Defense.

You are kinda of hurting on speed so it makes setting your lineup a little bit tough. I would like to see you with a better option with more speed at the SG spot.

Here is what I would start out with (you will need to fill out the rest of your depth chart):

First number is distro/second one is 3pt freq.

PG1 King 5 +1
SG1 Watts 2 -1
SF1 Hitch 2 0
PF1 Polo 5 0
C1 Lucas 0 -2

PG2 Watts (above)
SF2 Halls 3 0
PF 2 Pawls 0 -2
C2 Molski 0 -2
Like I said I'm having trouble at SG2, maybe Halls or Polo there.

I think this is a decent start, but make sure you follow my advice on Primary Defense. Never go minus against SIMAI, almost always go +1 or even +2 if they shoot like 25+ 3's on average and do NEVER on Adjustment.

I thought that you should always do always for adjustment because the sim will always make the adjustment to give you the better chance to win at its own game... Seems logical to me. Is this an incorrect assumption?

I followed this philosophy from one of the guides when I first started playing. I think the logic behind it is since you are playing SIMAI and essentially allowing the computer to make adjustments to the SIM team and if you allow the computer to also make adjustments your team, it could actually work against you. I think most people would rather keep the computers decision making out of the game as much as possible so they do NEVER. I guess that is the complete opposite of your assumption. You should change your adjustments when you play other humans though. Maybe some of the experts will chime in and offer their advice.

?? about 1-5 distribution..does it mean (as the example given by MonsterTurtl) total distribution is 17 out of 100?

My understanding on the way it works ... the game totals the distribution number of you current lineup and then calculates each individual player as a percentage of the total.  Say you gave your 5 players the ratings of: pg-2,sg-3,sf-4,pf-5,& c-6.  The total would be 20 so your pg would be 10% of the time, sg 15%, etc.  Of course your ratios change as players move in and out of the lineup.

Doesn't have to add up to 100

20-20-20-20-20 is the same as 5-5-5-5-5

I just realized that your season is over so you may need to adjust you distro a little bit based on how much you players improve in the off-season. Don't go over 5 distro for any one player. And I like the 3 guard set the most because I think it puts the most talent (IMO) on the court the longest and Polo poses a huge mismatch at PF, but he's versatile enough for other positions too. With you running MAN defense you can get away with making a guy #1 on the depth chart and #2 on the chart at another position. Also, on your the depth chart screen set Substitute by Fatigue and set all of your guys to Fairly Fresh. You will have a really experienced team next season so you should be able to see what is really working and what is not. I hope this gives you sort of starting point and something to build on. Good luck!

I find it a lot easier NOT to have it add to 100

That way, if I get my act together to game plan and want to increase or decrease the distro for a player or two, I can just add or subtract - without needed to change distro for other guys.  I usually have my distro add up to around 60-70 and then sometimes game plan to add or subtract for some players

freaky ... my base target for distro is 65 at the beginning of the season and I make adjustments from there on a game by game basis.
