Great Baseball Sayings and Curious Facts Topic

Three new ones:

1. Who were the only 3 players to hit 30 home runs in 13 different seasons (one is easy)  - WE HAVE TWO: AARON AND PUJOLS. WHO IS THE THIRD?

2. Who were the only 2 players to hit 35 home runs 11 times?

3. What 7 players have hit 40 home runs in a season and struck out 40 or fewer times?

Here's the morning trivia.
This one may be a little easy.

Who was the latest person to homer 4 times, in one game?

Who was the first guy to do it?
First guy to do it was likely Lipman Pike, who hit 6 in one game (though one SABR source says it was 5).

The most Pike ever hit in a season was 7:

'A description in The Baseball Chronology of the events of July 16, 1866, gives an indication both of Pike's home run prowess and of the nature of the game at the time:
"Lipman Pike of the Athletics of Philadelphia hits six [6] home runs, five in succession, against the Alert club of Philadelphia. Final score is 67-25."'

For reference, the team played 25 games that year; Pike appeared in 16 of them. Things were. . . a mite different back then.

Yeah...that game is not part of MLB history...definitely doesn't count as the HR record.

The MLB record is 4.

MLB history starts with either the NL of 1876, or (in some sources) the National Association of 1871.  Anything prior to that, while interesting, is not part of MLB.

1. One is probably Aaron, the other I'm guessing is Pujols
2. One is probably Aaron, the other I'm guessing is Mays

1. Aaron IS one, and Pujols is another, but I screwed up, using a source from before 2015. Pujols did it for the 13th time just last year. So there are three and we have two. I have changed the question to reflect this.

2. Neither Aaron nor Mays.

1. My original question was mistaken because my source was from more than a year ago and Pujols hit 30 for the 13th time in 2015. So Aaron, Pujols and one more...

2. Pujols has hit 35 only 10 times, so we still need 2 names.

3. No takers so far.

Most recent was Josh Hamilton I think.

99% sure the first was Bobby Lowe.
Correct

I think the first was Lou Gehrig.

Lou Gehrig was the first player in the AL to do it

I think all four of Lowe's were inside the park.

The source I have lists six players who hit 30+ HR in 13 different seasons

Colavito did it against the O's. The way I heard it, a fan threw a beer on him in right field in the first inning and he, infuriated, hit four in a row.
2/13/2016 4:55 PM
When Colavito did it I believe he and Lou were the only ones to have done it in consecutive at bats. I remember well when Mays did it and was listening on the radio when Schmidt did it against the Cubs in extra innings, when I think his fourth was a walk-off.
