Based on the starting pitching the Tigers have, there's only 2 options for them. First, or fourth. No way they finish worse than Chicago this season but things could go very wrong or very right. No in between. And I'm leaning more towards things going very right

I'll retract my statement. Detroit has the 2nd best offense. Toronto has the best. But 2nd isn't bad

There were 9 teams including Toronto that scored more runs than the Tigers last season, and that is only in the AL. Add the NL, and there would probably be 15 teams that scored more runs. How is it they had the second best offense?
Baltimore - 713 runs
Boston - 748
Houston - 728
KC - 724
Minnesota - 696
NY - 764
Oakland - 694
Texas - 751

Best BA in MLB last year. 2nd in OBP. 3rd best in OPS. And that's without a full season from Miggy, trading Cespedes at the deadline and V-Mart playing in 120 games injured. A full season from Miggy, a full season from J-Upton (who is replacing Cespedes) and a healthy season from V-Mart and this team is no doubt a top 3 offense in baseball.

The purpose of an offense is to score runs. I don't care what the team BA or OBP or OPS was. If 13 teams scored more runs, 13 teams had better offenses. Since we have no idea what will happen this season, we don't know what kind of offense they WILL have. Last year, they're offense was not very good.

Runs scored is not all on the offense. They were 13th or whatever due to bad base running and setting a new MLB record in GIDP. They're still the second best offense in the game. They just ran into some bad luck.
