Or are you arguing that the major leaguers that put up the best stats over large sample sizes aren't the most skilled players?

I can't confirm or deny until I fully understand your thoughts on how stats = skill.

Please explain.
Now you're the one diverting.

Answer the question.
So you're not going to explain how stats = skill?

Because you don't know how to, or because you realize that you'll sound stupid if you try.

It's OK. You're among friends. We won't judge.

Are you arguing that stats = skill?

It sounds like you are.

Yes, or no?

Wait, I have to answer your question before you answer my questions?

Here's the first one I asked you:
Answer this question, who is the best hitter in baseball and why?

Here's the second one:
I think that the best major league hitter is the one with the best stats. Do you disagree?

Here's the third:
Or are you arguing that the major leaguers that put up the best stats over large sample sizes aren't the most skilled players?

Actually, I asked the first question:

Do you watch baseball?

Ok, I thought that was rhetorical. The answer is yes. Now answer my questions.

I don't see a point in answering your questions. All that would do is help you distract from the fact that you said something stupid, and cannot or are unwilling to try to back it up.

But if you REALLY need answers, I'll give you some.

1) Bartolo Colon, because he's fun to watch hitting
2) 42
3) Green

I'm perfectly willing to back up my argument, but I don't think you actually disagree with me.

My entire point is that the best major league hitters are the ones that put up the best stats, specifically, the stats that correlate best to productivity.

You haven't said yes or no, but if I had to bet on it, you'd agree with that statement.
5/13/2016 1:55 PM
Agreeing that two things have a strong correlation does not necessarily mean that they are the same thing.

Stats = skill?

I'm not going to go around and around on this.

You're implying that the best hitter was someone other than the hitter with the best stats. So who was the best hitter in 2015?
5/13/2016 2:07 PM
Why is it important to you to know whether I agree or disagree? What does that have to do with explaining yourself?

You say you're perfectly willing to back up your argument.

Please do so.

I'm not implying anything.

I'm asking you to explain why you believe stats = skill.
