"Best" D3 Players thread Topic

I thought I had seen a thread about this somewhere before, but I couldn't find it, so I'm starting another because there's this guard in Rupp D3 that is insane, and he still has one season left to play.

This guy is only a redshirt freshman -- 680 total rating. He went from a 474 to a 574 during his redshirt season.

He is on the #1 team in D3 Tark -- Cal Tech. Just a monster squad.

I had a guy a long time ago. His name was Fred Neece. His defensive rating was 5. However, he was 90+ in speed, perimeter and ballhandling. Averaged 45PPG, had a great shooting percentage and was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the 1st round, 6th overall. However, this was during a time where you could get into the NBA on stats alone, in addition there was no "taking too many shots" penalty.

This is the best D3 player I've ever had: Scott Hendricks

However this is the best D3 player ever, I really don't think you can beat Troy Zeyer

Holds the player record for most points in Phelan D3(I'll check overall)

Played in the fastbreak/press with unreal ratings of :

100 ath 55 spd 51 reb 100 def 44 sb 89 LP 86 sta B FT

windixies was able to RS him as well:
Yr. GP GS MIN FG% FG3% FT% OREB REB AST TO STL BLK PF PTS
82 27 27 27.1 .407 .722 2.2 7.9 0.5 4.8 1.0 1.2 2.0 34.7

This guy was my best guy. I've had guys rated a lot higher but not as good of a scorer.

Probably my best at D3 was early on at CMU. Barry Hunsberger

A sign of how good Freedom is in Crum that he didn't get much conference attention. A zone C with not great block.

A little similar but I like to look at the stats and find the most inefficient players in the country.

Not a fan of his stats and some of the attributes. FG% less than 50%, high turnovers. Looks like his athleticism inflated his ppg by about 10?

Some of the other guards in this thread are head and shoulders above him.

Max Anderson makes a good backcourt compliment for Zeyer.

You give me one pick from every player listed in this thread and I'm still going with my man Hendricks. Guards just make more of an impact than forwards do in WIS. Don't see any way Zeyer comes close to matching Hendricks' efficiency on offense, and ability to run the point well is harder to find than ability to rebound well. Zeyer has the edge on defense, but I take Hendricks for scoring and position-specific talent (guard skills vs rebounding)

These are monster players. I've had a handful of Final Four runs at D3 but I'm not sure I've come across any guys like this on my team or on the other team. Stunning that some of these guys can fall so far through the cracks.

i didn't look at every single player, but i definitely agree with hendricks over zeyer. frankly, i don't think its even close.
