Congrats Carl and nice run cmolli.
With cmolli as the runner up the last 3 times. Crazy!

I'm ready for *** kickings now.
5/16/2016 9:16 PM
Hey guys, I forgot to renew at NYU and someone else put in for the job. I think my resume is pretty solid but if a successful D1 coach drops down I am probably going to lose out. I am in this tournament if I come back but if I lose you may need to adapt.
5/17/2016 9:24 AM
like i said...i'm expecting an 0-7 record this season. I hate super classes and somehow ended up in one. All freshman and sophomores this season, so it will be a waste.
5/17/2016 2:51 PM
All is good, you suckers are stuck with me for a few more years!
5/18/2016 9:23 PM
I feel that my team this season stacks up against everyone in this. BH being the only crutch.
5/21/2016 11:11 AM
Feel free to challenge NYU, we'll play anyone, any time, any where, any year.
5/22/2016 12:56 PM
The first round kicks off here in a little bit but before we do here's a few headliners
This tournament field has placed both of National title participants for the past 3 seasons.
Becker is the defending champ and became the second straight team to double dip by winning the National Title as well( No pressure to our soon to be champ lol ).
USCG has been runner up both seasons and runner up in the National title game the past 3 seasons!
Cal Tech & Gallaudet are the two new comers this season and square off in round 1 so it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top for bragging rights of winning their first ever gm played in this tourney.
Match ups & style will be key but I'm going to take Capital to win & Becker will be runner up and odds of this season finishing in a tie and money staying in the kitty look ever more probable.

Slot 4
#3-Cal Tech 76 at #21-Gallaudet 68- Washington, DC. The Nation's capital kicked off this event with the two newest members of the tournament and it was Cal Tech pulling off the road win for bragging rights. The Bisons fell behind early and faced a double digit deficit starting the 2nd half and eventually ran out of steam after Samuel Quevedo's jumper with 2:58 left cut the lead to 1 at 62-61. From there it was all about Cal Tech's ability to score from the field and the foul line as the Beavers picked apart the Gallaudet zone throughout finishing at 55% from the field. Forwards Phillip Schwartz(SR) & Earl Schuler(JR) led the Beaver attack with 16 & 18 points. Carlos Hinojosa finished with a double double of 14 points & 12 boards for the Bisons.

Dickinson 80 at Franklin 65- Franklin, IN. The Grizzlies built a big lead in the first half but got torched over the last 23 minutes of the game to a tune of 61-30! For Franklin it marked the 2nd time in only 3 home games this season in which they've been blown out in front of the home crowd. Franklin HC taggl didn't call anyone out but did say that the Grizzlies lack discipline & leadership. Senior Red Devil guard Carl Nunn scored 17 points in only 13 minutes of action for the Red Devils who improved to 2-2 on the season and more importantly 1-0 in this tourney. Franklin will next host #3 Cal Tech while the Red Devils travel home to face the Bears.

USCG 61 at #10-Capital 75- Columbus, OH. The Crusaders have struggled in this tourney by winning only once in the two previous challenges but this year will be different and much to do with that will be the play of Senior guard Jim Champion. Champion show cased his AA talent by scorching the Bears for 16 points, 6 assists, & 3 steals. Junior forward Anthony Noonkester was solid as well and added 12 points, 8 boards, & 3 steals. The Bears trying to overcome all of their youth now drop to 1-3 and faces a short bus trip to Carlisle, Pa for a match up with to this point their biggest rival in the Red Devils. Capital travels north to visit TJ and his Violet squad.

Slot 5
#3-Cal Tech 52 at Franklin 55- Franlin, IN. Both offenses struggled to get anything going against these two defenses and neither team could get any separation on the scoreboard as this one was nip & tuck to the very end. The Spurlock Center wasn't in a friendly mood especially in the first half when it's Grizzlies struggled to a 22 point effort and a 4 point deficit at the break, many booed and threw debris at players leaving the court. For Franklin players it served as a wake up call, as even with the offense still struggling the defense was superb with 10 steals and 15 total to's forced compared to only 17 fg's allowed. Senior Grizzlie guard Donald Jones faught through several double teams to lead a balanced attack with 12 points, 5 assists, & 3 steals. Earl Schuler who led the Beavers with 15 points drilled a 3 ball to cut the lead to 1 with 10 seconds left and nearly tied it at the end when the Grizzlies who opted not to foul allowed him to get off another one from the corner...thankfully it didn't go in and the Spurlock Center was safe.

Before this tournament these two old rivals had met 44 times with Becker holding a 25-19 advantage. #45 went all Becker's way in the second half with the Hawks zone holding the Bisons to 17 points on 4 fg's! #8-Capital 51 at NYU 62- New York, NY. Chances are chants of Gary Arthur will still be echoing through the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center when the Violets take the court to face Dickinson later today when the two 2-0 teams square off. The Senior scored 23 against numerous double teams and more importantly helped his Violets protect it's home court and stay unbeaten. The Violet Defense was suffocating again holding the Crusaders to 17 fg's and 40% for the game. For the Crusaders, Jim Champion did his part with 18 points & 3 triples and 6 of his teams 17 fg's. Capital coach cmac will need to find somebody else to step up if they're to win later today when the Crusaders take on the defending champs in Becker.

USCG 58 at Dickinson 100- Carlisle, Pa. This was a type of game that the tourney to this point hadn't seen as it was a blow out of epic proportions. The Red Devils scored at will in the second half and the young Bears( Cubs may be a better word here ) were over matched at every position. The Bears were dysfunctional of all sorts on both sides of the ball and their box score shows it with a Miraculous 1 team assist while committing 33 to's! I'm not sure I've seen anything like that but it also didn't stop there as the *Cubs finished with 5 players fouling out and 45 fouls total allowing the Red Devils to shoot 60 times from the Charity stripe! Senior Red Devil guard Carl Nunn shined again with 22 points(14 of them from the foul line) in only 14 minutes. Dickinson now 2-0 will be prime time this afternoon with the 2-0 Violets in NY, the winner will be in sole possession of first place.

Slot 6
Franklin 77 at Gallaudet 67- Washington, DC. When Coach taggl said his team lacked discipline & leadership you got the feeling it was directed at his seniors even though he didn't say as much or maybe the Grizzlies just need to play all of their games on the road where they are now 3-0 on the season. Either way the Grizzlies prevailed and Senior forward Roland Joyner stepped up in a big way with all of his fg attempts coming from beyond the arc and finished by connecting on 8 of them to go along with a few ft's for 28 points. Fellow Senior guard Donald Jones poured in 18 with 3 steals to help Franklin move to 2-1 in the challenge. Franklin plays the 3-0 Violets back at the Spurlock Center tonight after TJ's team defeated the Red Devils to remain unbeaten. Gallaudet will travel to Columbus to take on the Crusaders in hopes for their first win of the challenge.

USCG 77 at #10-Cal Tech 79- Pasadena, CA. The Braun Center was host to it's first game of this challenge and even though it was a successful one it was a little nerve racking for the hometown fans when Dean Flora's runner with 1:37 left tied things up at 77 and for a moment it looked as if though the young Bears might claw their way to the win. After Flora's runner Junior Earl Schuler was fouled but made only 1 of the 2 from the foul line. Things got sloppy after that with Bears Freshman Claude Lupien turning it over on their next possession only to have the Beavers return them the favor with one of their own. Lupien then forced up a shot only 12 seconds after the Beaver turn over from the right corner while fading away, and even though the Bears got another crack at it, it was these two possessions that essentially sealed their fate. Earl Schuler scored 19 & Senior forward Phillip Schwartz added 16. Lupien, up until those last few possessions was spectacular with 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting the Freshman also tallied in 4 assists & 5 steals.

#16-Capital 64 at #19-Becker 58- Leicester, MA. The Crusaders needed a big second half and someone not named Champion to step up and deliver one of those knock out blows if they were going to defeat the Hawks on their home court this afternoon and Senior big man Eric Green made sure that was exactly what they got. Green scored 10 of his 15 in the second half and also contributed with 9 boards & 3 blocks while causing havoc down low against the Becker zone. Jim Champion was solid again with 15 points on 4 3 balls & 4 assists. Becker struggled to find their way against the Crusader defense and finished 39% field. This game was dominated down low by the big men and Becker Forward Harry Bardwell led the way for the Hawks with a double double of 15 rebounds & 11 points. The win improves Capital to 2-1 while the Hawks drop to 1-2.

Dickinson 60 at #24-NYU 70- New York, NY. Senior guard Carl Nunn's two foul shots with 3:10 remaining in the game cut the NYU lead to 2 at 62-60. The only problem with that was the fact it would be the last points of the game for the Red Devils. The Violets have opened this tournament with their 3rd straight home game and done exactly what they're supposed to do by winning all 3 contests. Senior guard Gary Arthur stayed hot with 25 more points and now in the first 3 games has scored 19, 23, & 25 respectively. Arthur also connected on 6 3's and now has 14 for the tournament. NYU is all alone in first place sitting at 3-0 and travelling west to the state of Indiana to face the Grizzlies. Dickinson who suffered their first loss struggled to get the offense in gear with only Nunn hitting double figures of 18. The Dickinson trademark of getting teams into foul trouble and shooting a big % of the shots from the foul line was a non factor with NYU only committing 16 fouls. The Meyers coached Dickinson team now heads home to face the 2-1 Cal Tech Beavers who staved off a late rally of the Bears.
