Hi all,

What is the best time to promote prospects that you are planning on being solid ML'ers? Is it possible to get multiple promotion bumps during a single season?

Also, is there a penalty, or a potential to miss out on improvement thru the minors, or any reason why a recent college grad can not go from Rookie league to the Majors if they have the ratings? I would assume it is better to develop in the league that has the better coaching ratings, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

There is no "100%" answer.

First, players should be in AAA/BL when they're on the 40(4th pro season). There's no reason a legit prospect should be lower than that at that point.
Second, some prefer 1 level at a time while others don't really care about that at all.
Finally, if a recently drafted/signed player is BL-ready, there's no real reason to hold him back if he can help. However, you lose salary control much sooner. As it stands, you get 3-4 minimum salaries, 2 arbs and 5 LT years at a minimum. Some people prefer to hold players back to get all "peak" years.

I don't believe you get a bump for promotions Dark. It's simply a time-stamp of their current progression.

I
plan on this kid playing in the minors this year, he's not fielder ready to be my 2B yet, but man I really want this kid on my ML roster...

He could play LF.

He could but my current LF is stuck at either LF or 1B so I plan to keep Rios down for another year and hopefully his fielding will jump enough to be ready to play ML next season or potentially late this year in case of a playoff push

Trade Decker for something you can use elsewhere.....your kid is WAY better than Decker.

Stupid question but I'm completely new and lost right now.

What does 'BL' stand for? Big League?

Would you put a projected 84 overall college player directly from the amateur draft into AAA out if your RL HC has a 51 rating and your AAA coach has a 89 rating?

Age and projected BL promotion?

22yr old 2B/LF

Assuming you don't intend to hold him back until he's 25, there's no harm in using him in AAA for a couple of seasons.
