Datatrek,
I am putting my Rangers squad together and want clarify the following: You must take exactly 2 players from each of 15 seasons and 5 players from your other chosen season. Do I have to take two players from each season selected or do I take no more than two players per season selected. If I have to take two players from the same season, there is no mathematical way I can have 25 players with two players from the same season. If I can have one player per season with the option of having two players maximum for a specified season, then I can assemble my squad with no problem. Please respond and thanks for taking time to review and answer this question.
Heh Javeo,
Here's how the math works:
1) You have 35 players total to draft (25 MLB roster + 10 manual AAA)
2) Those 35 players come from exactly 16 seasons of your franchise.
3) Exactly 2 players are drafted from each of 15 seasons. So far, you have drafted 15 X 2 = 30 players.
4) Exactly 5 players are drafted from the 16th season. Adding to the 30 players already drafted gets you to 35 total players.
NOTE: Other themeleagues sometimes have rules about which seasons are used for AAA and which seasons are for MLB rosters. I leave that to the owner's discretion. For example, I could draft 2 MLB players from 2006, or 2 AAA players from 2006, or 1 MLB player and 1 AAA player from 2006.
Hope this clarifies the rules!
