I believe that a coach can move from D3 to D2 after one year. About how long does it take to move from D2 to D1AA and then to D1A?

2-4 seasons for D2 to D1AA. D1AA to D1A varies quite a bit depending on how successful you are at D1AA, and which school you are trying to move to. It takes longer to move to a BCS conference.
