If I said Lofton was really good at fielding, so good that it more than made up for his just slightly above average bat, would you still scream WAR ************ like the shrill ***** you are?

Or would you be like, "oh yeah, that's baseball?"

Well, that would make more sense than saying "Kenny Lofton was a 55.7 for his career". Because saying that is kind of stupid.
