The 1917 Diamond Legends (Career) Progressive League needs one replacement owner-see the post below for statistics on the 1917 hitters and pitchers.
I have just been informed that one of our owners in the 1916 league will not return for the 1917 season. He has been an excellent owner. This team won the NL pennant in 1916 and lost the World Series in 6 games. I think the team also has an excellent chance of making the World Series in 1917.
The pitching is outstanding and the hitting is very good. The pitching staff will be retiring over the next few seasons (not in 1916) and will need to be rebuilt, but 1917 should still be a pennant contending team. The hitters nearly all have considerable seasons remaining so only the pitching will need to be rebuilt. The 1917 pitching staff will be very strong, headed by Eddie Plank.
In the Diamond Legends (or Career) WIS leagues, players use their average career statistics. In this specific league, that will mean using their average career statistics in a progressive from their first year of eligibility starting in 1901 (currently 1917) through their last year of WIS eligibility.
General Managers must be able to deal with a salary cap of $80 million. Owners must use the actual ballpark used by their franchise in 1917.
Annual drafts will be in inverse order of finish except that for the first round only there will be a random weighted lottery among the 4 teams with the worst record (4 chances for the team with the worst record, 3 chance for 2nd worst etc.). The tiebreaker will be run differential (runs scored less runs allowed) with the team with the worst run differential drafting higher.
Add/Drop Round
Starting at 11:00 AM EDT on the day following the conclusion of the annual draft, there will be an add/drop round on a first come, first served basis. During the add/drop round, a player dropped by one owner may be added by another owner if desired.
Players drafted during the current year's annual draft MAY NOT be dropped during the add/drop round. This includes a player drafted and subsequently traded.
