Bill Simmons - thoughtful rebel or loudmouth? Topic

Curious to see what everyone thinks.

Like most media "personalities", he can be both.

I'm wondering if the last 2-3 years is a re-branding. I mean why not? FS1 is basically gonna become a Philly Sports Talk radio station (without the homer Italians from South Philly calling in). The dude seems smart.

Simmons is a loudmouth arrogant jackass.

That's my general opinion. But that gets airtime and, if you get past that, he occasionally makes a point.

Skip is a real genuine loudmouthed jackass. I mean we know its no act. You get the same from Bill S? Or do you think its an act to get work?

I think he sort of morphed into that because it helped his career. I'm not 100% convinced that Skip or Stephen A are the same at a dinner party as they are on air.

Honestly, the entire job of on air talent is to get a reaction. If people are indifferent to what they're saying, most don't last. Mike and Mike get away with being non-controversial because they're first on air. They can report the overnight news. The shows that follow them have always been a little more edgy. Blame Howard Stern.

Disagree. He's a smarmy, occasionally snarky, arrogant jackass.

Screamin' A Smith is a loudmouth arrogant jackass. Skip is a loudmouth arrogant redneck jackass.
