Tough Man Contest MLB115950 - 2 in Topic

MLB115950 $100M cap.

This should make for a very tough team to draft - three distinct requirements for each player. First you must draft one hitter and one pitcher from each of the following time periods: 1890-99, 1900-09, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 2000-09. Your 25th player has to come from one of the two time periods: 1885-89 or 2010-15. Second each players last name must start with a different letter of the alphabet. Third each player must be from a different team name.

No clones, no waiver wire, no AAA, no DH, no trades, no transaction deadline, no live play and all ballparks are available but limited to one instance of each.

I will be posting a league number soon. This theme has been hard to fill in the past as it requires some time to select players. The last time we had several owners who entered two teams. Please let me know if you are interested and I will list your name as a possible owner. This does not insure that you will have a spot as once a league number is listed you will have to enter a team in the league to insure your spot.

1. mwammes - Tropicana Field (1998-2007)
2. TBill7
3. northof49
4. reddtrain - Busch Stadium II

Same cap? Or are you going to change it up this time?

(I'd vote $100M, but I tend to prefer (relatively) lower caps.)

Good post reddtrain - actually if there is enough interest in a $100M cap I would be for that myself.

I like this format and would play with 120, 110, or 100 cap. If you wanted to change the cap I'd rather go down gradually 110, then 100. I'm in either way.

I prefer the $120 cap, but I'll be back no matter what.

I will be working on my team soon for another go round. Would like to see more comments on what cap is preferred. Right now it appears that anywhere from $100M to $120M would be accepted.

I'm definitely in at either $100M or $110M. I'm not sure I can make a different enough team at $120M to be worth trying again.

I do see your point reddtrain - it might be a good idea to try it at a lower cap to change up the players that would be used. At this point I would be inclined to go with $100M and then the next time go with $110M. Any thoughts?

working on my team with a $100M cap. Hope to have a league number soon.

Just a heads up - If you start a league with this challenging of a draft now, two weeks before a dynamic salary update, you're going to run into the same problem you ran into last season where everyone who enters before will have to redo their teams.

Thanks for the heads up ozomatli - I will wait to post a league number until after the salary update. In fact I won't even put together a team until after the update and I would recommend that anyone considering playing this league do the same. May have to reconsider the cap as well.

Oops...mine is already built. I left almost 100K in leeway, and I can't imagine many of my players are that popular.
5/21/2016 4:34 PM
Did the salary update occur yet?
6/2/2016 7:02 PM
Obviously, it has as of now.

My players were that popular. However, my roster is corrected now, so I'm ready when y'all are.

For all those interested in this theme - we will stay with $100. for this time and go to $110. the next time. I will try to get a league number posted in the next few days. Thanks for your interest.
