well ive been wanting to give dirk a try in this league for awhile and i finally got my chance....usually i wait until i see who i get with my first pick to start thinking about a team plan but this time i was dead set on using dirk since i felt i could get howard/moses/rodman with my 1st rounder...those are the 3 guys best suited to unlock dirks potential imo....deron was an easy 2nd round pick to make though i was really hoping to land billups....i had planned on ho grant being available in the 3rd and was delighted to see him there...hes the perfect sf to pair with dirk

i actually started to think about abandoning my plan as we got near the end of the 3rd and guys like lucas, allen, thompson, ewing, and amare were available but you guys put an end to any of that by my 4th rounder...league would have been over if amare slipped to me

i dont know if dirk is able to win a title in this league but i feel ive given him a very good chance so far...if i can get the sg i hope to(thinking i maybe should have took him in the 4th and dirk in the 5th) i think ill have a pretty good chance

You have drafted a great compliment to Dirk so far- this is almost certainly the best chance he's had to win a title in the 52.
What is the realistically perfect combo? Has to start picking first, ideally.
C Big Wilt (1st)
PF MVP Dirk (4/5 turn)
SF Horace (3rd turn, now seems early)
SG undrafted (4/5 turn)
PG Nash (2nd turn)

drafted players only, 4 in:
36.1/76.99 oreb/creb
69.6 asst%
58.4 team EFG

That's a challenge to the next player with 1st pick

After a very rocky start, I'm actually happy with how my team is turning out. Has that ever happened to anyone? I'll certainly had the other three options: 1. Start terrible; end terrible. 2. Start good; end terrible 3. Start good; end good (rarely), but starting rough and ending good is a weird feeling.

EVALS ANNOUNCEMENT: I will do full evals once the draft is over- moving this weekend/week and will likely get them done Wednesday or Thursday.

I have tried Grant Hill a couple of times. I don't think him at pf shooting for the ast% bump is his best use. I think using him
at pg to get a reb advantage is worth a look.
his best use is the 10 mpg version

yea..i cant resist taking a shot at grant hill...as some of you know, ive been preaching the grant hill hate for a long time

his dreb% and ast% is incredible for a sf but you also have to take on his high usg....and he just doesnt compare to the other high usg scorers in this league

im still waiting for someone to prove me wrong...nc was the closest in the odl...but he also had stockton and nash to give him a major ast% bump and a weak division/conference to play against...i dont think he won one playoff series

yea i kinda just bypassed wilt since i never expect to have him...hes definitely the best guy to pair with dirk

nash as his pg would be awesome as well....some as$hole ruined that chance for me though haha

who is in charge of evals?
5/30/2016 6:59 PM
mikee1, as last season's triumphant winner.

I tend to churn out unofficial evals, though, if I'm procrastinating about something important.

By the way, has anyone seen any sign of scudmissle?

I decided to experiment in the current Sukow 4th round clone draft league and draft Grant Hill as my clone to round out a 140 ast% team... I have D Williams, Stockton, Mason, & Noah in the lineup & C Ray coming off the bench.. so my D & rebounding are good for a high ast team... but I'm getting crushed... I never really expected to be great, but I tough I'd win 45 games... And really, I just wanted to try it and see what would happen... my 2 guards are really the only 2 that are seeing a huge efg% boost, although most of the other 10 guys are seeing a slight boost...

I think that team just has too many turnovers, but that's just on first glance.

It does- but from my past experiences using high ast teams, the RL turnovers are drastically reduced. Maybe Ash or someone else can explain it better, but from my experiences with my teams & other teams in leagues I've been in- the high ast% teams not only see an efg boost, but also a TO% decrease. I think I'm averaging 2+ TOs than my opponents. I'm not complaining about that- just saying... I won the previous Sukow 4th round clone league, so I used that as an excuse to experiment and try something that I very well knew might end up disastrously. Lol

I have the combo of Johnson and Daniels in the 50 Mil Sukow league. Currently they combine for 45.8 mpg, 14.9 ppg, 13.1 apg, 2.7 fpg and 2.6 topg.

2nd and 3rd in ast/to ratio.
