This is the patented tec strategy.

Disagree with something someone says
Attack but refuse to back up your own side
Dodge questions
Call names
Change the subject and run out the clock with stupid ****

So, you're right, this isn't pot-kettle.

Here's the patented BL strategy:

Claim something as an indisputable truth
Dismiss any arguments that dispute your claim
Dodge questions
Repeat claiming something as an indisputable truth
Dismiss any arguments that dispute your claim
Dodge questions
Repeat ad nauseam until the other person tires of going in circles
Claim "victory"

Did I miss anything?

Hmmm, what question did I dodge?

Y'all are both guilty of the same thing. This seems to happen a lot between y'all. So don't worry about it, we've all accepted it as just a fact of life. Tec and B_L disagreeing. But yah, wins aren't useless, good pitchers tend to have a lot of them, but just like any other stat, you wouldn't only use that one. You can't tell if 20 win pitcher did better than a 18 win one. You can't tell for sure if a pitcher with a .949 WHIP did better than a pitcher with a .995 WHIP. There's multiple stats to use to tell if a pitcher is better. But better pitchers tend to have more wins, and win milestones are sometimes added in as bonuses in contracts. Think CC Sabathia, not sure if it's him though, gets a bonus for reaching 15 wins. Multiple pitchers have stuff like that in there contracts, so yes, wins do matter

I picked the type of game where we can all agree on it being good enough to get a win most all of the time: eight innings, two runs. That's a 2.25 ERA. That ERA would be good enough to be among the Top 10 most years throughout baseball history. Yet from 1920 to 2014, a pitcher throwing such a game, got the win -- brace yourself -- just 33.6% of the time.

Kill the win.

What percentage of those pitchers got tagged with a loss in those games? Unless it's close to or more than 33.6%, then it's . . . .
