1. Pick any NBA single season team WITH your sign-up.


2. Once a team has been drafted, no team that played one season before or after that team may be drafted. (For example, once the 2012-13 Miami Heat have been drafted, you cannot draft the 2011-12 Heat nor the 2013-14 Heat.)




3. You may do one of the following:

a) substitute one of your current players for a former or future teammate of one of your players (2016 Warriors: you may substitute Ian Clark for any season of Steve Nash, because Leandro Barbosa, who is on your team, played with Steve Nash)

b) substitute one of your current players for any player in franchise history (2016 Warriors: you may substitute Ian Clark for any Warrior, i.e. any season of Jason Richardson with the Warriors. You cannot use any seasons of Richardson with the Bobcats or Magic)

c) twist one of your current players (2016 Warriors: 15-16 Leandro Barbosa can transform into 06-07 Barbosa)


4. You cannot use any player that is being used by a team that has drafted, nor any player in an adjacent season. (For example, if someone else is using the 2012-13 Heat, you CANNOT use 2011-12, 2012-13, or 2013-14 LeBron for Rule 3. You can use any other season of LeBron


5. Cap is $50M


6. You can call your team whatever you want.


7. No clones


8. If less than 12 players are listed in the WIS database for your team, you may use additional players from the adjacent seasons. (For example, the 1990-91 Boston Celtics only have 10 players. You may use players from the 89-90 and 91-92 Celtics, but you MUST use all 10 players from the 90-91 Celtics, and then add two players from the other two teams. You may not exceed the $50M cap under any circumstances.)

sooooo building a team with this is hard.... I mean you could have a team ready but then someone drafts a team with your replacement player on it.. kinda makes it hard. I'll join if ya ever make it a draft or something. First picks have to much on an advantage I think

I don't think so. You can take a scrub and replace it with any franchise's best player.

Take any Bulls team and add Jordan. Early Cavs, late Cavs, any Pistons or Spurs, and just add the best player. You have the ability to get many compatible seasons, or annex an era of great basketball from one franchise.

Since there's a $50M cap, the Warriors can't add the great Wilt seasons to that roster. It balances out.

I like this idea, but I'm with sam. It will be hard if you're working a team and then someone comes in and takes a team that prohibits you from taking a player that was available when you selected your team. Suggest removing rule 4. You'll have some duplicate players, but it will make it easier to put the teams together and will make the league more likely to fill.

What's there to work on? You basically take an existing roster and replace one guy. Doesn't take much thought. Plus, rule 4 helps to keep things in check. Part of the strategy is trying to build a team that won't get screwed. Keeps the guys picking later in the running. Now people have to think twice before taking a Heat team because they know their version of Lebron may be off limits with a later pick. Without rule 4, it's just a waiting game.

I don't know. We can vote once we get enough owners. I'm willing to do it with or without Rule 4.
