Well, let's be honest. Outside of fastbreak, all of the offenses play fairly similarly. The differences are minor.

But if I knew going in that I wanted to build a 3-point centered offense, motion would be my last choice. You need 3-point shooting in any offensive set. But in this game, it's least effective in this one. But again, the margins are small.
Why would you prefer 3pt shooting in FB vs motion?
I guess the weighting is probably the same, but all shooting tends to be a little more efficient in fastbreak...

no one Builds a 3 point offense that can win that I know of.....heard many want to try it. Never heard anyone successful IN ANY offense. I see no difference in motion or triangle to give good results.or maybe can be said FOR ANY offense of have the few people, bh, pass, and Per
Back when cagefan was coaching Chicago in Knight upstate he had some crazy 3-point offenses. He won a few titles and at least one of those teams took 50%+ of its shots from 3. That was running fastbreak/press.

Efficient as in higher FG%?

I guess a fastbreak 3-point shooting offense might look a lot like Golden State...

Yeah, obviously not inherently better in PPP or everyone would be running it. But shooting percentages seem to be higher for individual players while they can keep on the court.

granted he was a special div 2 player but will accept a near 51% 3 point avg in senior year with motion

UofI strength of schedule last year 96. This year 42. Valid excuse?
No! My sos is 103 this year! 42 last year! No idea what you are looking at! If anything (edit), this shows even more that he should be better this year!

Honestly this information is worthless in my opinion. You have no way of knowing how good the defenses were of these teams, or style of play, or human vs sim, etc.

I'm telling yanks he's wrong.

??

You said the stronger SOS shows "even more that he should be better this year".

I'm saying that the SOS isn't enough information to make that statement.

Passing does not affect shooting.
BH DOES affect shooting.

BH and Passing of teammates affects shooting of all players.
correct, except "iq and passing of teammates affects shooting of all players" would be accurate. bh is not part of that. seble implemented the iq+pass partly or maybe completely based on a couple conversations we had during the engine re-write. when he announced he was going to go ahead and make the change, he'd already coded it, and obviously, my reaction was great! ... but what about bh? he didn't really have an answer, i am not sure if he agreed it should go in (i think he softly agreed), but obviously he didn't think it was that important because here we are 5 years later, no bh. still thrilled he did something on that front, even if its not exactly what i'd have liked.

SOS is a very limited measure - it tells you about the wins and losses of opponents - not relative strength and certainly not relative strength in any specific aspect of the game

Small samples are fools gold - in HD and otherwise. It can be like trying to analyze why a coin came out heads a shocking 60 out of 100 tries.

yes u are right. BH only affects the shooter. Was testing you.

Now email me back the answer to my 3-2 zone question from JJ!!!!

Okay, an update on Mr Hester since we have more data points.

He's now shooting 36% from 3 for the season. In 6 conference games, he's shooting 38%. This include 4 games against Sims.

Still seems below expectations considering his 67 ath, 81 spd, 94 per and 69 BH.
