Mattingly - 2 left! Owner Swap/Rebuild Competition Topic

There's really 3 types of teams available this season in Mattingly.
* - These teams are from-the-ground-up rebuilds - bad contracts, lack of elite young stars, etc.
** - These teams are still rebuilds, but the process is underway - they have some elite talent in the pipeline, young stars, or clear finances
*** - These teams are set to contend now and (assuming they're well managed) into the future

After 4 seasons, both the *-designated and **-designated team with the most wins (all levels combined, ML counting x3) over that time will receive a $25 WIS gift card.

Additional $25 gift cards will go to both the * and ** teams with the best ML team by season 4 (based on W/L record for that season)

NL South
*Texas Longhorns Franchise - This franchise is led at the ML level by Asdrubal Pescado, an elite defensive SS with enough bat to contribute at the plate as well. There's a collection of adequate, but not exceptional talent (including SS Jo-jo Edmonds waiting in the minors), but the few rough contracts and lack of elite talent makes them a clear rebuild as well. They have the #14 pick in the next draft.

*Richmond Crew Franchise - This team has been a slightly below average for a while. Although they do have useful (and young) ML pieces in multiple GG-winning SS Zeus Munro, and power pitcher Eric Bessire, the minors are largely devoid of difference makers beyond 1B Brian Koplove. They have the #12 pick.

Taken Teams
*Trenton Waste Managers Franchise - This franchise doesn't have a ton of talent to begin with and then was managed poorly last season. On the plus side, they do have talent like Raymond Skipworth languishing at AA for some reason as well as Juan Ruiz (#4 pick last season) and the #1 pick this season.

***San Diego Electrics Franchise - A playoff team last season led by Theo Rivera and young stars like SS York Hultzen, SS Tony LaHair and arbitration eligible ace Stuffy Hall, among others. They'll be picking #27 this season.

***Tacoma Whalers Franchise - 10-time defending division champs and current WS champions, this team is clearly loaded with talent. Players like James Herrera, Edgardo Rodriguez, Jose Carrara, Joshua Newman, and Miguel Galvez are elite talents at the ML level, with only Galvez over 30. With success comes a low draft pick, so they'll be picking #29.

AL South **Tampa Bay Jades Franchise - There's young talent here in arbitration-eligible Thomas Harris at the ML level, and then legit SP prospects like #1 overall pick Matt Moore and John Hoiles in the minors. Also keep an eye out for Matt Fordham, drafted #7 last season. This team has a solid foundation built, but may need to wait out or trade off a few bad contracts.

AL North **St Louis Cardinals Franchise - Struggled the past few seasons, but have no large contracts on the books and have great young talents in Bruce Jacobo, and great future stars in Jun Satou last year's #1 pick Albert Aceves. The previous owner did a great job clearing out bad contracts and this is another team with no contracts over $500K. They have the #3 pick in this year's draft.

AL East
***Philadelphia Flyers Franchise - Another team with the ability to immediately contend, this franchise has been to the playoffs the last 8 seasons and is led by ace SP Benito Oropesa, several great bats (including Brandon Kaline & Desmond Tabaka) and a lights-out bullpen (see Einar Fuentes and Alberto Iglesias). They'll have the #23 pick next season.

**Burlington Bay Runners Franchise - Led by Virgil Sosa, this team has been undergoing a youth movement that hasn't really born fruit yet. With 5 years ML time, he's the most experienced player on the current roster, and only 2 are over 30. Armed with last year's #3 pick (future stud SP Mike Walker), this year's #6 pick, and no contract currently over $400K, this team is set to prioritize youth and talent.
