Vladdy going to be a 1st ballot HOF'er next year? I think he should be.
One of my all time favorite players; one of the most feared hitters of his generation but I think needed to play a couple more seasons to put up the numbers the committee is looking for "first ballot" guys. Didn't get to 500 Homeruns or 3000 hits but if he didn't play nine seasons on that concrete they called Astro turf in Olympic Stadium his knees and back could have held on for a couple more seasons and he definitely hits those numbers. I predict he just misses next year and makes it the following.
I think he is a "Hall of Very Great" player, but misses the HoF. I loved watching him play, but the arm covers up what a butcher he was in the field.

I also think his biggest obstacle will be Larry Walker...if Larry doesn't make it, I don't think Vladdy makes it.

Love these types of discussions, even more so when talking about players who were Montreal Expos...I was one of their eleven fans. Shouldn't interrupt the flow of the draft but I just had to make one more comment. While Larry Walker was a good player, he had three great seasons, while in Colorado which taints things a bit. Finished with 2160 hits, 383 HRs and a career .313 hitter. He had one MVP and two top fives. Vladdy had 2590 hits, 449 HRs, a career .318 hitter and played 90%+ of his home games in pitcher parks. He had one MVP and four top fives. He makes it to Cooperstown, probably not first ballot. Sorry for breaking our flow..

Remember Rattlers....I believe you and ozomatli still have to deal one draft pick to keep it at 25 and 25. Right now I think it's still at 26 and 24.
