Probably a silly question, but I figured I'd take a shot.

I'm trying to make a trade to bring in a player who will greatly improve my team, but it puts me $50,000 over budget for next season. I don't want to trade any of the players I have under contract for next season, so are there any tips or tricks for freeing up future seasons' budget, midseason, without trading those players?

If you have anyone that is on an option for next season (mutual or team) I - think - you can just release them. It automatically drops next year down to the 25% penalty amount rather than their full activated option amount.

Sadly, no options. But definitely a good tip to remember. Thanks.

If you transfer money into player payroll for this year, I believe it will raise your cap for next year.
