I was trying to come up with a name for this league and landed on "Salary Allocation League" which is obviously very catchy.... So instead we are just going with "Catchy Title Theme"
Cap: 120M
Anyway, the basis of this league is, you guessed it, salary allocation. You will be given 120M and 16 salary ranges. You must draft one player in each salary range and the remaining 9 players must be under the lowest range. Sounds pretty straightforward, right? People have run themes like that before. Where this league gets interesting is that each salary range is based around a RATIO of either $/PA or $/IP, and not a flat salary number. This will be a bit of a puzzle. I have come up with these ranges after a significant amount of time trying different combos. You will have to find the diamonds in the rough, in some cases, and avoid the overpriced players in others. This theme will reward your shrewdness.
The 8 ranges for pitchers ($/IP) are: |
1. $55,000+ |
2. $46,667 - $54,999 |
3. $43,333 - $46,666 |
4. $40,000 - $43,332 |
5. $38,000 - $39,999 |
6. $36,000 - $37,999 |
7. $34,000 - $35,999 |
8. $20,000 - $33,999 |
|
The 8 ranges for position players ($/PA) are: |
1. $15,000+ |
2. $13,000 - $14,999 |
3. $12,000 - $12,999 |
4. $11,000 - $11,999 |
5. $9,000 - $10,999 |
6. $7,500 - $8,999 |
7. $7,000 - $7,499 |
8. $5,000 - $6,999 |
There is no restriction on how you split up your IPs and PAs among the 8 players, or even among the other 9 players. Remember though, that the other 9 players must either have a $/IP under $20,000 or a $/PA under $5,000.
Good luck.
